After their little star gazing moment, Yao and Ivan decided it would probably be best to just go back inside and wait until they passed out from exhaustion.
Which they did, but Yao was pretty sure he only got an hour's sleep.
The next day, they got up, without a word about the night before, and headed outside to meet Gilbert after getting dressed.
"How was your first night everyone? I hope it wasn't too shit!" Gilbert asked a loud after all of Group B had gathered around him, still drowsy and half asleep.
Just then, Yao let out a horrifyingly loud yawn.
"I guess it wasn't great for you then, Yao." Gilbert retorted, trying to keep a conversation going, though none of the exhausted teens before him had any sense of conversation this early in the morning.
"No. Alfred was snoring all night." Yao claimed, sending a glare over to Alfred.
"Hey! It's not my fault!" He pouted, slumping in his chair, triggering Arthur to roll his eyes.
"Anyways, this morning we have a short speech from the Camp Master over in the amphitheatre, so if you could all get in a line and follow me that'd make my job a whole lot easier."
Yao sighed and got in line behind someone random, and that someone just so happened to be Ivan.
They headed over to the amphitheatre, dragging their feet behind Gilbert's strong bounds, and sat down on the second row, group A being on the top and group C being on the bottom.
Once everyone settled, a man wearing almost the same uniform as the counsellors strode onto stage and up to a podium. Only he was wearing trousers and not shorts. Which was good, because he looked to be at least late 40's and Yao definitely could not handle a forty-something in shorts as short as Gilbert's.
"Welcome to a new year of summer camp. My name is Roma, your Camp Master, and I hope all you campers will have a fantastic time here. Now, first of all, we have a few announcements."
Gilbert walked up to the podium, and took a deep breath before sprouting an all mighty "WASSSAPPPPPP!"
To which two boys from group C responded back with a just as loud: "WASSSSAAAAPPPPPPP"
"Gilbert! Shut up and get on with your announcement." Roderich scolded him, slapping his arm and then walking back behind him to where Group A's Counsellor and Roma were.
"Alright, Alright, Love you too babe. Anyways so uhhhh yeah at the end of the camp we will have a leaving prom- party-event-dance-whatever and you're advised to have a date but you can go alone if you want to. Also it's not mandatory. Although, I already know who I'm taking." Gilbert looked behind him and winked at Roderich, who stayed silent though his face turned bright red.
As the speeches continued as normal, Yao noticed Ivan's hand gently brushed his on the bench. He glanced at Ivan from the corner of his eye, though Ivan was still looking straight at the stage.
It must've been an accident, but Yao didnt move his hand away.
Roderich and the other camp counsellor for group A, Elizaveta, then went through a few ground rules and overall events until the speeches were over.
"To the first activity!" Gilbert announced, summoning Group B to follow him out of the amphitheatre.
They walked over to a large patch of ground primarily taken up by woodworking equipment.
"The first task today is woodworking, guys. Arthur, Michelle, shut the fuck up for a sec whilst I explain. We're gonna start with the basics and just carve a spoon. Everyone sit down and I'll show you how its done." Gilbert explained, taking a seat at the front of all the small woodworking stations.
