Chapter 10:The Hills

"That looks great on you,"Maria
said smiling.

As I opened the door from the dressing room showing her the pink bikini I had on. I looked in the mirror.

"I don't know," I said.

It looked cute but I just didn't feel comfortable wearing it. I had my hands over my stomach. This is the fifth store we been to.

Today was Brittney's party and I had to find something to wear. I changed back into my yellow sundress and walked out.
"Wanna try another store?" I said

As we walked out with our shopping bags.

"Sure but what time is it?"she asked.

I checked my phone it was noon and we had to be at Brittney's house one to help set up for the party.

We kept walking until we came across another store and went in. I started looking around through the racks and piles of bathing suites until I came across a white halter bathing suit top I knew I wanted it.

But when I tried to find the matching bottoms none in my size I went and tried it the top on.

"What do you think?"I asked showing Maria.

"It must be cold in here," she said giggling.

I looked down and realized what she meant I crossed my arms and laughed Then changed back into my clothes and walked out of the dressing room picked up some black swim shorts. Paid for my stuff and then Maria and I walked out the store. Today was a nice day the sun was out and the weather was nice.

We drove to Brittney's house I didn't realize how far she lived in the city as I was driving and started seeing the Hills which was then known as the rich side of town.

I pulled up to a nice big house that had pink and silver balloons in the front yard and parked next to a black Mercedes.
Maria and I got out grabbed our bags and I picked up a gift pink box with a now on it.
We walked up to the door and I ringed the doorbell.

"Are you nervous?"I asked Maria.

"No are you?" she asked.

I shook my head no but I was nervous I knew this party would determine how the other girls would feel about me.

As the door opened and I saw a pretty middle-aged woman with long brown hair.

"Hey you must be Brittney's friends from school," she said with a smile on her face.

She looked at the pink box in my hands.

"I'll take that," she said.

I handed the gift to her and she led us inside.
As we walked into the house I saw more pink and silver balloons and streamers.

I saw Brittney come down the stairs she had on a blue crop top and white shorts. She looked like a younger version of her mom except with blonde hair.

"Hey Happy Birthday," I said.

"Thanks," she said.

Then told Maria and I that we could put our stuff up in her room it was the first room on the left.

As I was walking up the stairs i saw pictures of her and her family on the wall.
Her room was huge everything was black and white. Which kind of surprised me Brittney seemed more of the super girly type.

We set our bags down and went back downstairs sat at the kitchen table helping set up plates and decorations.

The kitchen was by the backyard which was where the pool was and her younger twin brothers kept running in and out dripping wet and spraying water guns and chasing each other.

"Hey, guys," Katy said walking up to us holding a pink cake box.

Before I could respond All I could hear was a loud bang she slipped on the floor and the cake was splattered all on the floor.

"Are you ok?"I asked helping her up.

"What happened!"

Brittney was shocked she looked at us.

"I slipped," Katy said

Then Brittney's mom walked in and her eyes were filled with shock.
After everyone was going back and forth about what happened and who's fault it was.

"Girls we will be back before the party starts we got to go get another cake," her mom said.

Then Brittney and her brothers followed her and we watched them leave the house.

After they left we started cleaning up the water and the spilled cake and icing off the floor.

"Thanks for helping me,"
Katy said as we were wiping the floor.

"Let's turn on some music and have some fun Maria said plugging up her phone to the speaker.

We started dancing and having a good time while still sitting stuff up. I heard the doorbell ring

"I'll get I said.

I walked up to the door and opened it.
