Just Kids

We were just kids when we met

I was six and you were seven

We were just kids when I started to like you

We were just kids, didn't know what we'd go through

We were so young, innocent, and hopeful

Never thought anything could go wrong

Now we all grown up- in high school now

Life got tough and it dragged us both down

We were just kids, knew nothing of the hard times

We would both go through in such a short time

Didn't know how crazy life could be

Didn't know we'd still be you and me

Ten years later, look at us now

How many times have we picked our lives off the ground?

How many things have you gone through?

How many tears have I shed for you?

How many times have I hidden my feelings?

How many times has a smile from you sent my heart reeling?

How many lifetimes have we lived in ten years?

How many lifetimes have we lived my dear?

How many heartaches have brought us here?

How many heartaches, how many tears?

Now I'm sixteen, you're just a year older

Oh my dear how we've moved mountains and boulders

Just to come to this crossing place

Just to come to where we will find our way

Just to come to where I love you

Just to come to a hopeful me and you.
