Old-School Love

Is it really that bad that that's what I want?

One first date, one first kiss, one love that counts?

I don't mean to seem delusional

Maybe I'm just old-school

But I want to fall in love once

Honestly, that's all that I want

I've had enough of these schoolgirl crushes

The world of "he loves me, he loves me not" and backwards glances

Trying to catch him looking at you

Without him noticing you're looking too

Of flirting and hair-flipping

And trying to make him watch you leave.

What happened to the substance, where is the depth

Where's the realness? I ask you this

Has the whole world really gone mad

Spending all their time trying to make him like you back?

I choose to believe that's not the only way

That falling in love hasn't become so cliche

I choose to believe it's not too much to ask

To fall in love, just once, and never look back.
