The boy had to think of a lie, and think of it quick. He started to get antsy so he started spewing it out.
"Well, as I said I have a job that makes me travel a lot, and I'm getting kinda annoyed by it. I'm just super duper stressed so I'm escaping that. I'm also under a lot of pressure from my brother because of it. I don't know. It's just a lot."
"What do you do for a job?"
"I'm a photographer. Professionally of course."
"At 19? Damn that's really impressive to me. That's so cool." She said flashing a smile. The boy instantly became attracted to her. She had a wide and beautiful smile. It was so bright and wonderful to him.
"What are you escaping from?"
She took in a sharp inhale of breath. She has never told anyone about her parents and they're overbearing demands. She thought about his possible reactions, and how she might start to break down into tears. She bit her lip gently before beginning to speak.
"Well, I have a major passion in one certain subject. And my parents hate that I love it so much. They're very unsupportive of this passion and think it's not worth my time. So they want me to pursue a career in medicine, and I don't want that for myself. I don't like it at all. I think all of it is gross. I leave hospitals and drown myself in hand sanitizer. Anyway, I'm running away to my aunt who's going to to help me pursue my passion. I don't know, I just don't want to be forced into something I'll never want to do. I have mad respect for people in the medical field though, they do so much."
She looked down. She didn't want to tell him that she wanted to pursue Film in case he agreed with her parents that it isn't worth her time. He looked at her with curious adoration.
"What is this passion?"
"I really want to be a director. I want to write a screenplay. I want to make a movie from my own heart, and make it so special. I just want it to be mine. I love Film so much."
He looked down at his lap, thinking maybe she knew who he was. That was until she said.
"But you probably don't care, this doesn't have anything to do with you or what you do." She said it with a light chuckle and a reddish tint lacing her cheeks.
"No, I do care! You should pursue it! I think it's amazing, and I think women should be way more involved with film!"
She smiled bigger than she had the entire train ride. Then she looked at her hands which were sitting in her lap because she was so excited she started to blush. He,smiled just looking at how happy she was that he was supportive. He wondered how her parents could be so unsupportive of her dreams, it seemed so wrong to him. Almost unfathomable. He truly wanted to support her on this.
