You'd know Sam Winchester since college. The two of you had gone to Stanford together until he'd disappeared one night never to be seen again. Jess had been one of your best friends and you had been devastated when she had died. You had hoped you'd see Sam around the time of funeral, but nothing. Sam had just up and disappeared from your life.
It was now several years later and you had graduated from Stanford and were now living in an apartment on your own. Honestly it was the best feeling ever finally having your own place. You were still looking for a job after moving since you had to leave your old one, but it was well worth it. 'It's a nice day, especially for fall. I should at least go for a quick walk,' you thought looking out the window at the sunny sky. Even so you pulled on your leather jacket noting that it was still a little chilly.
You walked down the stairs and out the front door of the apartment building and began walking along the sidewalk. Not a whole lot of people seemed to be on the streets, but you didn't blame them. Weird things were happening around here even if Halloween was just around the corner. People seemed to be disappearing left and right. Some had gone on vacations suddenly and not returned, others had just simply left to go to get groceries and vanished.
You pulled your jackets closer to you, the thoughts in your head making you feel even colder than you already were. You kept on walking though your pace had quickened now with those ideas. You were walking so fast that you almost ran into a large shape in front of you. You stopped and took a step back looking up at the man standing in front of you. He was so tall and muscular and was dressed in a suit and tie. A man stood next to him only slightly shorter and of a slimmer build.
"Hello ma'am, we're with the FBI my name is agent Sanders and this here is agent Duncan," the shorter man said. You looked from one man to the next, something seemed familiar about the taller one. "Right, can I help you?" You said confused. You peered at the taller man and then it clicked when you looked at his eyes. "Sam?" You said. "What?" The taller man asked. "Sam Winchester, you're Sam Winchester. Not agent Duncan," you replied. "Wait a second, Tarah is that you? You look different, I didn't recognize you your hair has gotten so long," he said smiling. "I could say the same for you," you replied eyeing his long brown locks.
"So is this your brother Dean? You never talked about him much but he looks like the picture you showed me once or twice," you said nodding to the shorter man. "Yeah, Dean this is Tarah, Tarah this is Dean," he said introducing the two of you. "Pleasure," you said shaking his hand. "Pleasures all mine," Dean replied.
"So what are the two of you doing here? I thought you wanted to be a lawyer and what's with the fake FBI name thing?" You inquired. "Just a practical joke," Sam said quickly. "Right," you said. "But have you seen anything odd?" Dean intervened. "I haven't seen anything, but people have been disappearing," you replied. "But you haven't seen how?" Dean asked. "Well no, why are you guys investigating the disappearances?" "Yes, it's kind of our thing." "Well good luck and if you need anything from me just ask."
You turned to leave when Sam grabbed your arm and said,"give us your phone number just in case." "A little sudden but alright," you said and wrote it on the notepad Sam handed you. "See you guys around," you replied and returned to your home.
Several days later and you hadn't heard anything from Sam or Dean. People were still disappearing and you were getting worried. One of the people in your building, an elderly woman, had vanished only a day earlier and you started wondering if you were next. That's when Sam showed up one night unannounced to your apartment.
Knock knock knock. Someone was knocking on your apartment door around 10pm and you were so ready to scold them. "Now listen here," you said opening up the door to find Sam Winchester standing there with a worried look on his face. "Oh hey Sam, what are you doing here and how did you know I lived here?" You asked very confused. "Oh nothing, look I need to put these in your house," he said holding up little pouches that smelled pretty nasty. "Um why, those smell awful." "Just trust me, I'm trying to help you," he said and began stuffing them behind the couch and in your kitchen cupboard. "What are these for?" You asked. "A witch, to protect against a witch," Sam replied. "Are you feeling alright?" You asked reaching up to place a hand on his forehead. "Yeah fine, why?" "No reason," you replied withdrawing the hand.
"Look just stay here and don't leave and just in case..." Sam then bent down and gently kissed your lips. "Whoa, hey Sam, I haven't seen you for years. Why are you kissing me?" You said startled. "I like you alright and if something bad happens tonight then I don't want to have any regrets, so stay here and stay safe," he said and with that he left your house. "My god I love him," you said to yourself with a huge grin. It was nice to know that all those years of fantasizing over the tall man hadn't been for nothing.
