One Year Later, a Small Island off the Coast of Nami

Joylon looked at the front page of the paper. The title was “Murderer on the Run”. It was about the young girl that was charged with killing General Dawson Head. She’d shot him about a year ago, in the heart. She was found alive with a bullet wound to her right shoulder, and left knee.

Now she escaped jail. The Rolanz Police are trying to catch her before she makes it out of the country. Little brat might even make it. That would also cause more chaos in the now disturbed land.

He put the paper aside, on the dresser, and looked at the sound sleeping girl in his arms. He rubbed her soft, black hair out of her face. A prince would have to fall for a slave wouldn’t he?

She made a sound of annoyance. “Joylon,” Her brown eyes peered up. “How many times have I told you not to pet me when I’m sleeping?”

Joylon grinned, “Too many to count.” He returned his hand to her back, and she nuzzled back into him.

One year, they’d been running together that long. Rolanz was after the runaway murderer, the Nami Prince and his companion. It would turn out that the same Prince would be running from his throne. If either one of those caught up to them, what they had would vanish forever. So they would run, just like Landon’s Dusty.
