Chapter 2: Making Friends
Luna's POV
Here I was. Sitting in front of me was the biggest brick building that I have ever seen. I almost thought it was a normal high school until I saw the 10' fence with barbed wire on the top surrounding the perimeter of the school grounds.
The school was a deep burgundy and at least four or five stories high. All of the windows were shut tight, allowing absolutely no fresh air in. Overall, it was a very intimidating building.
I took a deep breath and smoothed down my clothes before heading towards the front door.
I didn't see any kids outside, or in the windows. It made me wonder where on Earth all the faculty and students were.
I pulled open the front door, and I found a big round man standing behind it, as if waiting for me. He was short and chunky, with a few thinning spots on his head.
"Hello you must be Luna Wetherton. My name is principal Burke and you will address me as such. Follow me." His voice was squeaky and high; it took all of my self-control not to laugh.
He led me down a brightly light corridor, past several doors, and finally stopped in front of what seemed to be his office.
"-ny fights. If you follow those rules then we will get along. If you break any of the rules you will be severely punished. Compendia? " Oops. I must have zoned out during his mini little rant. Oh well I'm sure all of the rules were just common sense anyways.
"Compendia." He nodded and then handed me a few papers.
"That's your schedule, your locker combination, and your dorm number. As of right now we have an odd number of girls so you won't have a roommate until another girl shows up, but don't worry knowing how disrespectful your generation is, you will probably have a roommate by the end of the week." With that said, he just walked away without explaining anything else.
I took the stairs up to the fourth floor and looked for the number 428 so I could put my suitcases in my room.
Finally after passing it a couple times I finally found my room in the way back corner of the school. I opened the door to find two twin beds with a little side table in between them with an alarm clock on top. Then there was a dresser on both sides of the room, with a little door off to the right that lead to a connected bathroom.
I unpacked all of my stuff and then after they were empty, I slid my luggage under the bed on the right.
I grabbed my schedule without reading it, laced up my beat up converse, and left the room to go and explore around the building. After about five minutes of aimlessly walking around, a shrill bell sounded. All of the classroom doors opened, and teenagers spilled out of the doorways.
As I looked around I noticed a couple things. There was only about two or three other kids that had crazy colored hairstyles, and there were only a couple snotty girls that resembled Jessica Splix. I also noticed that they were all staring and pointing at me. It was like I never left my old school.
