Grace and Phoebe! Book 5: Phoebe and Cooper!

Falling in Love

       "I like you, Phoebe,"  Kieth said out of nowhere.

       "I like you, but I have a boyfriend,"  Phoebe replied.  "We moved in together..."

       They walked in silence.  Kieth looked disgruntled.  He didn't know Phoebe was with someone.

       "I was with someone once,"  Kieth started.  "They were a coyote, just like what I thought I was.  Apparently, wolves can be brown..."

       "It's called Timberwolves, and I honestly don't want to hear you drone on about how you were once with a coyote named Felicia!"

       "Her name wasn't Felicia!  Why do you always guess names?  Why don't you ever pay attention long enough to hear what someone has to say to you so you can figure out their REAL name!?  For example, I can't name how many times you've called me Carlos, Kyle, Kylee, Carter, or any other ridiculous word you call a name!"

       "What was her name then?" 

       "I thought you didn't want to hear about it..."

       "I changed my mind,"  Phoebe responded.

       "Kathleen," Kieth answered ruefully.  "Never gonna be with HER again, though!" he snickered.  

       Phoebe was lost in thought.  She had read several books about things like this.  Old rundown farm?  Hidden passage?  Old scrolls, books, and literature that you couldn't find at any library?  Artifacts lost in time?  This situation seemed more like a movie series Phoebe used to watch (she still does, too).  Indiana Jones!  Well, it was Indiana Jones that Grace liked, but Phoebe preferred the spin-off of the movie called Indiana Bones, a movie about a dog detective who finds artifacts, fights himself out of sticky situations and saves the day by giving the artifacts to museums where they belong.  

       Phoebe stopped and thought for a moment.  She could be a legendary dog, she could change the world!  Her story was just like the movies, but real!  Maybe they would make movies about her life's story!  She thought about how her Indiana Bones story began.  It began with her meeting a young fellow... COOPER!!!  She forgot about her fiance!  This was a terrible mistake!  She had to abandon this old place and all her fame and riches to find him!
