"So what party are we hitting tonight?" A screechy as hell voice echos through the school. I wouldn't be surprised if the kids all the way down the hall heard it and thought a live raccoon was in a locker."

"I told you Jack, Talia is having a costume party and we will all be attending." I huff. He's so damn clueless sometimes.

"Talia as in Jack's ex?" Jaeden asks, even though he knows the answer. I think he is asking for Jack, to make sure he is aware.

"Know any other Talia?" I say, looking at my phone to see how much longer till the bell rings. Only 2 minutes.

"None of you guys can get with her though. Bro code, remember." Jack squeaks. The other guys just nod but I speak, I always speak. Some things it's irritating, but what can I say, I like the sound of my own voice.

"We all fucking remember." Any normal person would mumble that under their breath, but of course I don't.

"What's your problem today?" Jack asks, talking about my attitude. It's worse than normal, and I'm aware, but I'm not about to respond to his question.

"He's grounded for failing a math test, so he has to sneak out tonight. Just let him blow off some steam before class." Finn answers for me. Finn is probably the only other intelligent one in the group. I mean Jaeden is a genius and all, but that's school smart. And Jack is just an idiot in everything he does. Maybe not what he's doing with that Ellie chick, whatever it is he is doing seems to be working out well for him.

"Isn't that's what tonight's for?" Jaeden uses some of that almost-smarts he's got.

"It's supposed to be, but I'm having trouble finding a potential girl." I let out the truth. It's not a real problem, I always find one in the end. But the trouble is adding onto the whole grounded problem.

"What about that babe you were staring at a few minutes ago?" Finn smirks. Of course he noticed, fuck that smartass.

"I don't think I've ever seen her at a party before, she seems like a loser." And she does. Her and her three friends were all walking stuck together, like they were trying to recreate some dumb teen movie. And you could tell her and her friends wanted us to look at them, one of the girls even caught me looking and that's when I turned away. All four of them seem obnoxious as hell. She's defiantly a no.

At lunch the boys and I walk out to the field, and sit at the picnic table we always do. It's far away from the field so we don't need to deal with anyone running around or whatever. Today it's only Finn, Jack, and I. Jaeden had some meeting regarding the fact that he is class president and all that shit. He told us he only wanted the position for his college application, but I can tell he actually enjoys it. I can tell what all the guys are hiding, it's like my gift. Like it's obvious that Finn wishes he could be in school band rather than just using his guitar for nothing, but he'd never actually join in fear of embarrassment. And I can tell that Jack despised the fact that he is so short because it's stoping him from playing basketball, but he pretends to be so damn confident. I can see through all the guys, but they can't see through me, not even close.

"Don't those guys get tired of leaping around 5 hours a day?" Jack says, talking about the guys playing football on the field. "I mean they have 4 hour practices after school, but they still choose to run around during lunch."

"They enjoy it dumbass. It's like us coming out here to smoke at lunch. We do it all the time, but we still wanna do it now." Finn says while pulling out his cigarettes. I put my hand out and wait for him to give me one. Then I pull out the lighter I keep in my pocket and light both of ours. Jack doesn't take one, because he is seeing Ellie next period and she despises the smell.

"If Ellie hates the fact that you smoke that much why don't you just dump her, it isn't like you're loyal to her in the first place." I ask him, watching a he digs into the sandwich he bought before we came out here.

"Because we have a good thing going, I don't wanna be the one to ruin it." He smiles. That's another thing I know about Jack that he doesn't want anyone to; he loves Ellie. He has a good lie going, that she's amazing in bed and doesn't care what he does with other girls so he doesn't wanna ruin the arrangement. But he loves her, he really does. He does a shitty job of hiding it, or maybe I'm just that smart.

"So you're bringing her to the party tonight?" Finn ask, going back and forth between a protein bar and his cigarette.

"Of course not. It's my ex's party, I'm not a monster."

"So you're on the market for this one?" Finn keeps going, he's like a detective sometimes.
Like I know everyone about everyone just by seeing through them, he straight up asks them and finds out.

"Um... I'll see." Jack murmurs. There it is, him being in love with Ellie and everything. He used to be with Ellie 6 days a week, but the night of the party was his escape. I can't tell you how long it's been since he's actually hooked up with some other girl. He told us he did two weekends ago, but I'm almost positive it was lie considering he didn't give us a name. His excuse was that he didn't remember it, but Jack always remembers. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a goddamn list, I know for sure Jaeden does.

"You going for anyone in particular?" I turn my body more towards Finn.

He shrugs, "I'll probably just take the friend of whoever you get. I'll try for Sadie Sink but I think she's taken." Finn brings up his girl. Finn hooked up with Sadie last year at her birthday party, and to this day he's referred to her as the best sex he's ever had. Every party he tries to get with Sadie again, but hasn't gotten lucky. So normally Finn and I get the friend of whoever the other one gets.

"Ya know, if you manage to get with Sadie maybe we will both have girlfriends." Jack says to Finn, wanting to fulfill his lifelong dream of a double date with a guy he actually likes.

"Why do you need a girlfriend? Girls suck... dicks. Why need a girlfriend when they will do that anyway?" Finn brings up the point he has made to Jack thousands of times. We laugh, like we do every time. It's a dumbass joke, by the point is valid. Why have just one girl when you can get what a girlfriend does for free?
