When Monday morning rolls along I have absolutely no clue what to wear. What do you where to try to impress the guy that was just wanted a one night stand but now he is stuck in seeing me because our best friends are dating that you kind of secretly like a lot but that can never know you like him because it would ruin everything? Jeans?
I end up wearing a mid thigh jean skirt with a silver belt, and a green tube top. It's a little cold for it, but I'll be fine. This morning nothing is different than it was Friday morning, or any morning before that. Except this time when we pass the dream team Lilia leaves us for Jaeden. He just kisses her cheek when she gets to him, but you could tell they've kissed before. Wyatt was talking to Finn during this, his back turned away from me. When Sophia notices this she whispers sorry, but I just shrug. It's a new week, he's probably forgotten all about me. Soph, Iris, and I leave Lilia be and say we will see her during class, then the three of us walk on. Acting like Wyatt isn't even there, acting like I couldn't care less.
First period is photography, which I don't have with any of the girls. I sit alone at my seat when someone sits in the seat next to me, which is usually empty. I turn to see Jack Grazer smiling at me.
"What?" I ask, not even sure he is in this class.
"I need to talk to you." He says urgently.
"Are you even in this class?"
"No, just none of us have your number and this seemed like the best way to reach you. When the bell rings meet us at the water fountain by the gym."
"Us?"
"You'll see. Just go there." Jack smirks then runs out of the class. Is he talking about Wyatt? Why would Wyatt send Jack to tell me to meet him, he could've just DMed me on Instagram.
The bell rings and I ask Mrs. Wilkins to go to the bathroom. As I make my way to the water fountain Jack said to meet at, I can't help but apply lip gloss. You know, just in case. I turn the corner to the gym to see a clump of boys standing around, but I only see three.
"Why did you guys want me to come here?" I ask the boys. Jaeden looks just as clueless as I do, but Finn and Jack are smiling like they prepared for this moment all night.
"We need to talk to you about Wyatt." Finn steps closer to me. I give a confused look asking for a bigger explanation.
"He's acting insane because of you." Jack yells and Jaeden tells him to shut up.
"What does that mean?" I try to fight smiling, even though I don't even know if it's a good thing yet.
"Yesterday he said that we should invite you guys to IHOP again, but before Saturday he felt very strongly about the no girls allowed rule." Finn says, clearly the most annoyed about the situation. "And then he said maybe we should try Waffle House next time, which is so weird and random." Waffle House, he actually remembered.
"So why do you think I'm the cause of this?"
"Because you are." Jack blurts out, and Jaeden punches his arm.
"Look, London. Every weekend he meets a girl and they do whatever, then he forgets about her and everything is back to normal by Saturday morning. But with you, he hasn't forgotten about you and nothing is back to normal." Jaeden says calmly.
"You're dating Lilia, maybe that's why nothings normal." I shrug.
"No because I've dated girls before, I haven't changed anything. But he hasn't seriously dated anyone and we don't know what's going on inside his head." Jaeden responds, ranting.
"We think he likes you. Like, like likes you." Jack screeches. And I can't help but smile.
"He doesn't like me," He didn't even look at me this morning, and he didn't message me all weekend. Why would he like me.
"Well we think he does. You see, he's never liked anyone after he's hooked up with them. Maybe this different attitude is because he does now." Finn says.
"Well talking to me about it doesn't change anything. Maybe you should talk to him." I say, then I look at my phone and see I've been out of class for about 5 minutes. "I have to go." I turn around start walking back to class. After a second of walking Jaeden is by my side.
"That wasn't supposed to go like that by the way." He shrugs. I pick up speed, and he does too trying to stick by my side.
"It's fine. I just- I don't think he likes me." I keep going faster.
"But you want him to, right?" Jaeden pulls my arm causing me to stop walking.
I stand there for a second, unsure of what to say. "Maybe. I don't know yet."
"You're a terrible lier, London." Jaeden turns away and starts walking again, leaving me standing there alone in the hallway. He's right. I was lying.
