I wake up feeling the best ever, and I know it isn't because of all the alcohol I stole from Jaeden last night. It's because of London. It's because I know that at some point today London is going to tell me she likes me, and I know I'm going to say I feel the same.
I put on the outfit I wore the day after the party where I met London. More for me than for her, because she doesn't know it, but that was the day I first really started to fall for her. The night we met was awesome and everything, but the next morning seeing her walk into that iHop (iHob now???) is when I remember actually liking her for her and not as a party hook up. And ever since that day I've felt the same. And today is the day she will finally hear all of this.
"Did you do your hair?" Jack says when I walk up to him and the rest of the guys in the school hallway.
"I always do my hair." I smile. I can't stop smiling. I haven't stopped since the moment I woke up.
"Is it only me or is he acting weird?" Jack whispers to Finn, but purposefully loud enough for me to hear it.
"Yes he is." Finn whispers back, same loudness. I don't get pushy, because of the good mood. I guess I'm breaking my usual rules, and I'm not trying to hide the fact that I'm excited because of a girl. Regularly I pretend when we are in public like this, and I guess I've gotten some pretty good acting skills through it, but I don't want to act anymore.
"Let him be, he's rarely ever in a good mood." Jaeden adds, not even bothering to fake whisper. I nudge Jaeden with my elbow, thanking him. I didn't tell Jaeden about my texting London on Lilia's phone last night, and I don't expect to, but he certainly knows I like London and that I'm okay with it. He will definitely be the first one I tell after London and I talk today, but I always tell him everything first. Just this time it will be something he would never expect. It will be that I have a girlfriend.
After a little more small talk, the guys and I start walking down the hallway, just for something to do before class starts. But secretly I'm leading us to where I know London and her girls hang out in the morning. If one of the guys notice, I'll say it's for Jaeden to see Lilia, or even better Jaeden will notice what I'm doing first and say that himself. We get closer and closer to where the girls are, and as we walk the crowd parts for us to get through. With every step I see more and more of the area we are headed too. First I see Sophia, laughing as always. Than Iris, applying lipgloss with her iPhone camera to guide her. Lilia, laughing along with Sophia, but glancing at her phone most likely checking for a text from Jaeden. And finally my eyes find London. Her blonde hair is laying straight slightly over her shoulders, in the casual way I love. She's wearing a short navy blue dress that flows on her body perfectly, and the deep color makes her eyes pop even more. She is clearly the one making everyone laugh, being she keeps talking as her friends chuckle. Her smile is wide and beautiful, identical to the one she had all those time we'd talked over breakfast. She looks just as beautiful as she did the second I saw her at the party, if anything more beautiful. The guys and I get closer and closer, until we are only a step away from them. Jack rushes up to them once we are within distance, Finn following. Jaeden slides over to Lilia and wraps his arms around her and kisses her cheek. I stand at a distance, not sure what to say. London greets all the guys, her eyes wandering our small circle or friends, then her eyes reach me.
"Can we go somewhere to talk?" She asks with a smile.
"Of course." I dart out immediately after she asks. We start to walk down the hallway, me leading because she knows I know better silent spots. And as we walk side by side, still separated by the lack of words spoken, all I can think is; Here comes the rest of our lives.
