Percy

So, I was in Ohio at mid-day where this super powerful monster is. Sorry, I should probably tell you who I am. I'm Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. Yes, the gods are real and everything in Greek Mythology. Anyway, I was somewhere in Ohio. My friend had sensed that there was a super powerful monster there. So, here I am with my girlfriend, Annabeth. It was only the two of us, but that doesn't matter. We've literally been to Hell and back, so we could probably take it. Only later, would I find out that it wasn't a monster that my friend had sensed, it was a person with strong powers, but not a demigod.

So we were walking when I heard a noise.

"What was that?" I asked

"I don't know." Annabeth admitted

We approached the noise. I uncapped Riptide, my pen/sword, and quickly a bunny jumped out. I jumped back. It caught me off guard, okay?

"Since when is the Hero of Olympus afraid of bunnies?" Annabeth asked

"Shut up, Wise Girl." I replied

Then I heard a quick rustling of leaves and as it got closer, a red blur as fast as the wind ran passed us.

"Whoa! What was that?" I asked

"Is it the East Wind?" Annabeth asked

"I don't think so."

I saw the blur on the other side of the street, passed the trees and up a building. Then down again. Annabeth and I looked at each other and nodded in agreement of our thoughts. I whistled for Blackjack, my Pegasus.

Yo boss. What a ya need? He said in my mind.

"Blackjack, I need you to follow that red blur." I said

Got it boss. Then can you gimme a donut?

"Yes, I will give you a donut."

Annabeth and I got onto the Pegasus and he bounded into the air. We traveled so fast that I saw that it was a guy in a red suit running. How did he run so fast? Was he the monster we were looking for? We kept following him until he ran to a building called S.T.A.R. Labs. Blackjack landed on the roof.

"Oh my gosh, S.T.A.R. Labs. I've read about this place!" Annabeth said, "This it's filled with all this amazing equipment and had one of the greatest scientific minds in the world!"

"What happened?" I asked

"He confessed to murdering someone in a video that was found after he died."

And on that happy thought, I asked Blackjack to get us to the ground. There was an entrance from the roof, but I didn't think that it would be the best idea to barge in and be like, Hi, I'm Percy Jackson. We are here to kill your monster in red. I don't think so. We landed on the ground and went to the front door. We were going to act like were interested in all the sciency things that went on there. Of course, Annabeth wasn't pretending. She loved all that stuff. Me, I was good at pretending to listen. I did that all the time in school, or when Annabeth was talking to me about architecture. She wants to be an architect when she is older. She also remodeled Olympus, so I think she'll get a pretty good recommendation.

We knocked on the door. After a minute or two, which felt like an eternity, someone with brown hair and green eyes opened the door. He looked like he could be in his twenties, nineteen at the youngest. He was wearing a sweatshirt with the S.T.A.R. Labs logo on it and sweatpants.

"Hello?" He asked

"Hi, I'm Annabeth and this is Percy." Annabeth started, I waved as she said my name. "We are here because we wanted to observe all of the scientists here."

"Um, come on in."

He stepped aside and let us through the door. He led us to the main room. He said something about it being called the cortex, or something like that. I don't know, I wasn't paying attention. Annabeth looked super excited.

"So, are you two young scientists?" the guy asked

"Well no, but I really enjoy science." Annabeth said then elbowed me.

"Ow..." I said. She looked at me sternly, "Oh, um yeah. Just love science."

The guy had a puzzled look, but kept going. I'm tired of calling him just, the guy. His new name is Guy. It's a real name, I promise! It's only till I find out his real one. When we actually got to the cortex, even I was impressed. And I don't like science. Ever since I blew up the room during an experiment. It was cool, but I got expelled. Anyway, Guy had led us to the cool looking cortex. There were two people there. A red head girl, and a dude with long hair. He was eating a lollypop. What mature adults that are scientists. Annabeth was fascinated with all of the stuff in here. All of the computers and the machines. Then I noticed that there was a manikin in the middle of the room. It was covered by a blanket. It was almost like they knew we were coming and covered it up. I saw surveillance cameras. Of course they saw us coming, but why did they cover that up? Something as insignificant as a manikin. My ADHD was killing me with curiosity. Then I saw another room. It had glass windows and a treadmill inside.

"What's that?" I asked pointing to the treadmill.

The lollipop dude stood up and turned me around.

"That's just research equipment." he said, "I'm Cisco. That's Caitlyn." He pointed to the red head.

"I'm Barry." Guy said (well I guess his name isn't Guy after all)

"One more question," I said "what's that?" I pointed to the covered manikin.

Caitlyn paled. I could already tell that Caitlyn was not a good liar. I looked at her.

"What is that?" I asked again, but to her.

"Uh-" she said

"It's a new device that's top secret." Barry said, saving her.

"So, if I saw it, you would have to kill me?" I asked

"No, nothing like that." Barry said laughing

"So there's nothing you could do if I saw it?"

"Percy..." Annabeth warned. I knew that she knew that I was going to do anything to see what was under that curtain. She was warning me against it. If they were hiding a monster in there, what would we do if it attacked before we were ready? But my curiosity was killing me.

"Not really. But, there is one thing that-"

Barry never got to finish his sentence, I felt a familiar pull in my gut. A little bit of water started floating in the air from a water bottle. The perfect diversion. I quickly made my way to the curtain and pulled it off. Instead of a monster, it was a suit. The red suit that the guy was wearing. The guy in the blur. The guy who was the blur. He was obviously in this room. Everyone looked shocked except for Annabeth. Where was the monster that Grover, my friend, sensed? Not here, that's for sure. The water dropped to the ground. The blur man must be in this room. I mean, he ran here. I looked at everyone. Obviously not Annabeth. Not Caitlyn. Annabeth gasped, I knew she figured it out. And so did I. Barry was the only option. He was the only one the right height, the right physique (That's right, I used a fancy word). And since he was so fast, that would explain how he changed out of his suit do fast.

"So, who are you?" I asked him

"What do you mean?" he asked

"How do you run so fast?" Annabeth asked

"I don't know what you're talking about." Barry lied

He kept a good poker face, really. I almost believed him, but I looked into his eyes. He was lying. I've seen that look a thousand times. Heck, I've made that look a thousand times.

"I will politely ask you again." I said, "Who are you?"
