12 years later. . .
Theodosia loved the smell of pine. Joseph had taken her to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon, there it always smelled like pine. That had been sometime ago, these days he wasn't so fun.
"Theodosia, I have to stay here, but I'm sending you up north with my friend Timothy." Theodosia nodded, she'd learned to just do what her husband asked of her, besides she wanted to go home. Here, she was just cooped up in the house while Joseph was off being governor.

Theodosia took a deep breath as she stepped onto the ship. The Patriot was famous or it's speed, she would be home in no time. Except she wouldn't, because the very next day the ship was attacked. . .
It was around Cape Hatteras that it began. Shouting and people climbing up the sides of the boat. She ran up on deck, because she was scared to be below by herself. Timothy ran in front of her and was separated from her as they got out. It was a full blown fight, every man on board battling another.
Suddenly, Theodosia felt ginormous hands grab her and lift her up "No, George! Leave that one to me." She struggled to look behind her but when she did she saw a masked man, much smaller than the one holding her up, he glared at her capturer and he put her down. "Good." the man said "We'll meet up later." The giant nodded then ran off in another direction.
"See ya at noon Philip!" Philip? She was so confused that she didn't even react when the man picked her up and raced towards the edge of the boat. Theodosia began to thrash, she saw Timothy run past her "Doctor! Doctor!" she yelled, Timothy stopped and looked at her, then blood began spilling from his mouth, Theodosia watched in horror as a man pulled his blade out of Dr. Green's back. She kept trying to get free but stopped when the man began climbing out of the boat. She held tightly onto him. When he got to the bottom the man put her in a coracle and then climbed in himself.
He didn't speak, he didn't answer any of the questions she asked him. He just rowed, it seemed he was an expert, even with the ocean being a lot rougher in these parts he managed to get them to shore.
He lifted her up and put her down in the sand. He looked up and Theodosia took this chance to punch him, something that Joseph Alston's wife would never do, but the situation was fraught. He ripped of his mask and frowned at her, he howled but stood up straight, hand on his cheek, looking at her with, was that admiration? She began running, though it was hard in her dress and heels, especially in sand, she fell down and let out groan.
"Yo!" called the man from where he was standing "You won't get far." He began walking towards her "I'm going to help you." He reached her and bent down to pick her up, she flinched away, this made him pull back, which shocked her, he was awfully considerate for a pirate. His gaze softened and he smiled a little, for some reason now she felt attached to him in some way. "I'm Philip, by the way." he said and she looked up quizzically.
"Philip Hamilton."
