Rich's POV
I watched the flame on the lighter dance around. Every second second voices echoed all around me. My breathing quicken. I heard sirens in my ear. Every move I was making I felt a shock. I can't do this anymore. I can't. I can't I CAN'T!"

I threw the lighter at a desk. It engulfed in flames. His voice screamed louder and louder. But it will be over soon. The flames surrounded me and grew bigger. My soon was in the whole room. My skin burned like acid. I fell down sobbing on the ground. My body contesly being zapped. And my vision faded to black.

Jakes POV
I pushed and shoved threw screaming teens running away from the source fire. I only had one person I needed to find. Rich.

"RICH!" I screamed looking around. My living room filled with fire. I saw the flames get bigger at the study.

I ran to it not caring how hot the door was. I slammed it down and saw in horror as rich was laying on the ground sobbing

"RICH!" I ran to him wincing in pain as the fire grabbed at my skin. I grabbed him but he pulled back. looking at me sobbing "let me die please!" He yelled.

My heart shattered.

"we need to go now!" I yelled coughing.

"No. P-please leave me."

"Rich I can't lose you as well!  I can't lose someone I love!" I screamed as fire surrounded us.

Richs eyes widened. "Y.. You love me?" Then his body hunched over coughing on smoke violenly.

I took off my jacket I used to cover my face and gave it to him
"Hang on rich." I said coughing

I helped him up and he wapped his arms around me

"We are almost there."

I looked around us.  A window was open.

"We need to jump." I said and rich nodded.  He let go of me opening the window.

Once he opened it. I heared loud crack and looked up. The ceiling was collapsing.

And rich was under it.

"RICH!!" I screamed I ran to him and shoved him out of the way. I felt weight on my legs and they bent in the wrong direction. I let out a painful scream as I fell to the ground. The weight pinning me. The pain was horrible.

"JAKE!  HOLD ON PLEATHE PLEASE SOMEONE THOMEONE HELP! WE ARE UP HERE!! HELP!

My vision was turning black. The pain was to much.  I need to rest.  A/n: not dead.  Passed out due to pain)

"Hold on Jake.  Hold on I love you don't die hold on.

My eyes closed down as I heard voices echo around me then nothing

My eyes slowly opened and closed until they adjusted to the light. I moved my head and saw I was in a hospital. Wait....fire.. Rich!

I tied to move but realised I couldn't. I couldnt feel my legs. Panicked I stared breathintg heavily.

"Jake!"

I moved my head to my left and saw Chloe. Great..

She ran over and hugged me as I heard her crying. I jumped a little. Shes never real cried before

"I'm just glad you are ok."

She stopped hugging and wipped her tears.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You broke your legs... You may never walk again on your own Jake.."

I looked down and removed the covers.  My legs were in full casts. And I signed

"What about rich. Is he ok?!"

She looked down.  "Sort of.. He got burned badly. Really badly.  And is still resting.  They had to drug him with sleeping pills because he kept screaming for you and crying.

My cheeks stung. I knew something was wrong.  He needed help.  I was to dumb enough to notice.

"C... C. Can we see him?"

Chloe smiled which made me more scared.

"I'll ask."

I rolled in rich's room and saw the boy. He was in a full body cast and his face looked broken and scared

I rolled up to him moving his hair out of his face.

Part of his face had burns on them.  I started crying. No one else was hurt as bad as us. Some guy in a creeper shirt had  bandges all on his arms and around his head.  He was sobbing on the ground saying he couldn't find his friend.  That would be awful. Rich dying..  I lost my parents. Losing rich as well?

I looked at the sleeping boy and leaned in.  Our lips locking

His eyes fluttered open  and I moved back, smiling down at him

"J.. Jake?"

"Hey rich.. "

"I'm sorry I'm sorry" He said sobbing as he saw my casts

"Rich's it's ok.  I forgive you."

He looked at me and sobbed more.  This time of joy.

We both had tears in ours eyes we hugged once more as we sobbed.

"I love you Jake.  More than anything. I don't care what people s-thay. I will still Love you.

I smiled. "This time. I'll keep something I love.. You.
