"Woah, what happened?" Miles asked Nancy as she showed up in his room with bloody, torn clothes, and a dagger in her left hand.

"I was in a fight." Nancy replied hiding her dagger.

"And?"

"And I won."

"Alright then. Um... you should find something less... murdery to wear." Miles said eyeing the bloody torn skirt, and her white (and now also red) shirt.

Nancy looked down at her clothes and gave Miles a questioning look.

"You probably understand the concept of shopping so here," Miles passed her his wallet, "don't steal it like last time."

Nancy took the wallet carefully and disappeared.

"I probably shouldn't have done that..." Miles shrugged as he turned around in his chair and continued his homework.

"Hopefully I look presentable in this..." Nancy laughed nervously.

Miles turned and looked at her in surprise. She was standing there in a knee length black dress with a white collar, her dark hair neatly resting above her shoulders in waves. Any trace of blood was completely gone and there was no way one could tell she could easily take out an army.

The silence was making Nancy uncomfortable and she fidgeted a little.

"There were also other ones I saw if.." she started.

"No, Nancy you look beautiful." Miles finally spoke admiring her new look.

"Oh- uh" Nancy became speechless, not used to receiving compliments especially from the always sarcastic Miles.

He stood up from his chair and carefully walked towards her and put back a strand of hair that was covering her eye.

"You know in another world we'd probably be a couple. I think that's how it works. 'Cause you do know I don't really swing... either way... in any way... right?" Miles looked unsurely at her suddenly realising he never actually said anything.

Nancy laughed and he let out a little breath of relief causing the tension in the atmosphere to completely go away.

"Miles we've been friends for 12 years. Yeah it really wasn't hard to tell, anyone attempting to flirt with you would quickly give up. I don't think you were even aware half of the time." Nancy smiled at the most recent example of this where someone asked if it hurt when he fell from heaven and Miles answered yes while showing the bruise he got from falling down the stairs recently.(Which was followed by him laughing at his own joke.)

"When did you find out!" Miles said dramatically putting a hand to his head.

"Alas, it was the dragon drawings that gave it away!"

About 5 minutes later the conversations was forgotten and Miles was showing her his most recent sketches and Nancy looked and commented on each. He was getting better at art and she was sure he'd get accepted to any architectural school he'd want.

It was weekend and as usual Nancy was hanging out in Miles' bedroom, as he did whatever work he had to do in comfortable silence.

"You know even though I don't really want to marry I still want children. Or child. Singular. Two children sound like too much effort. If I ever adopt a child you better be there, you can be that weird aunt who brings them rocks from mountain Everest." Miles said as he finished up his sketch of a snake.

"Yeah of course I'll be there, supplying your child with as many rocks as necessary." Nancy smiled softly to herself.

Nancy was hanging out in Miles' room again, as she often does. It was peacefully quiet outside as winter was slowly setting in, Miles was studying and Nancy was trying to recall that song she heard 20,000 years ago.

Suddenly Narcariel could feel the presence of other angels. This wasn't good. They needed to run.

"Miles..." she grabbed her angel blade, the only weapon that could kill an angel is something you want to keep close to you, "We need to go. Now."

Miles gave her a worried look not even having time to notice his friend was holding an actual dagger, but before he could say anything Narcariel took a step forward and touched him on the shoulder.

His head was a bit dizzy and his eyes opened wide as he took in the new surroundings, they were in a forest. It was so dark he could barely make out the trees as Narcariel grabbed his hand and started running.

"What's happening?! Where are we going?" Miles shouted at his best friend, blindly trusting her as he ran at full speed through the darkness.

"There are things I didn't tell you about, and I'm really sorry I didn't, but I promise it was for your safety. Except now they found me, and that may get you in trouble as well." Nancy explained as well as she could.

Suddenly three men in suits stood before her and Miles.

"Don't you dare." Narcariel's threatening tone took Miles by surprise. It was actually very intimidating, especially for someone her size, he's never heard her speak like that before. His pulse was quickening, and so many thoughts were clouding his head he just stared dumbly at the men.

One of the men smirked as they took a step forward and said: "I'll only say this once. You come with us, your punishment won't be as harsh and maybe the one in your charge will live."

The look of pure hatred told Narcariel otherwise, and she made her decision.

Within a split second they were all fighting, Narcariel dodging hits and trying to attack with the angel blade.

"RUN!" Narcariel shouted at Miles with a pleading look hoping her friend wouldn't be stupidly loyal.

Overwhelmed by all the action Miles did as he was told, but two of the men went after him.
One on one Narcariel had a chance of winning and the fight continued. She received many hits on the face and now a small trail of blood was dripping down her cheek.

The aching by her stomach increased with every blow.

Finally she dodged a hit, grabbed the angels arm and twisted it simultaneously digging her blade into his side.

She pulled the blade out and the angel fell to his knees, white light coming from his eyes and mouth before he fell on the floor.

After the light was gone there was a pair of wings burned into the ground, which Narcariel didn't stop to look at because the other angels have captured Miles. She could hear them somewhere in the forest. Two angels versus one human, the odds were definitely against him, they could kill him at any moment. She started running towards them.
