Summer had just begun and Miles couldn't wait. Although everyday was closer to the first day of his new school, he was happy because it would be a new start for him, besides right now it was just free time to go outside to read or draw, or stay at home and watch movies.

Miles had his sketching kit in his bag as he made his way towards a local park, he likes sketching the swans, dogs, and trees that grew there. He was sketching on a bench when he noticed someone standing by a tree nearby and completely froze.

"...No" he whispered to himself.

There stood a girl his age with short raven black hair, a neat black skirt, and a white shirt with long sleeves. He slowly walked up towards her, completely shocked and half convinced he was hallucinating.

"Hello Miles." Narcariel said to the boy with an unsure smile.

"It is you. It's really you." Suddenly his tone changed "I thought you weren't real! You said you'd come back soon! I thought I was crazy! I didn't know that was a real goodbye..."

"I had no way to make my company present. I apologise." Narcariel wanted to explain the Angels found her and it took time to leave from heaven again and once she did she had to make sure she was lost to them for real.

"I was able to assist you once... remember the person who assumed your smaller size gave them the privilege to harm you?" Narcariel tried to remind him.

"What? You mean that one kid in fourth grade? She went to the hospital with a friggin broken arm! Everyone thought I did it. Who are you? You told me you're human then you disappeared right in front of me. You definitely weren't hiding anywhere in that room." Miles took a step back processing that his childhood friendly visit was in fact very real.

"I.." Narcariel glanced at his shirt that read superman "I have superpowers..." she tried.

"What?"

"Other people wanted to refrain me from making my own decisions because of them. But it's a secret. I don't want to go back." She chose her words carefully, explaining the truth but not revealing too much.

"That doesn't..." Miles looked at this incredibly peculiar girl with amazement.

"I see you've pursued your passion for art." Narcariel glanced at his bag with a notebook poking out.

Miles didn't even catch what she said, still processing.

"You're saying that when I was six I met a person with superpowers who later was on the run from people who want to catch her and now you're here? What do you plan on doing?" He looked at her expectingly.

"Honestly I was to keep hiding from those who want to find me, but live a relatively normal human life nonetheless. The issue with that is I tend to have trouble fitting in."

"Wow great idea you know just come and live in my house and we can all be a happy family."

"That's a very kind proposition but I'll pass for you and your family's safety."
Miles looked at Narcariel with a whole new level of weird.

Suddenly there was a buzzing in his pocket and Miles took his phone out. He glanced at the screen and said: "Dammit my Mom has just the best timing, can you come here tomorrow? Around noon?"

Narcariel nodded. He picked up the phone and she saw him hesitate, "I promise I'll be here."

He was not completely convinced but he started walking out of the park regardless, only looking back once. Just to make sure it's real.
