chapter 17

Louis’ P.O.V.

I cried as the ambulance rushed Brittney away to the hospital. Luke came up to me and punched me in the face and said, “what the hell man you just couldn’t leave her alone could you? I saw you two in the hammock she went out there to be alone and you followed her. You kissed her and she pushed you away and then ran off. Get this through your head SHE DOES NOT LIKE YOU!” he screamed this in my face and then crystal came in between us and screamed, “guys can we not fight. Our best friend is possibly dead I think we should go to the hospital.” We all nodded and ran to the hospital we didn’t really wanna run back to get the car so we just ran. When we got there they wouldn’t let us back and sent us to the waiting room. On the way down the hall we heard screaming, “GET OUT OF THE WAY!” doctors were running Brittney on a gurney to the ICU. When they ran by with her body on there I lost it and ran behind them. The others followed and we stood outside the room she was in. The door was shut but we could still hear their voices. “hurry were loosing her!” they were running around like chickens with their head cut off. They hooked her up to an oxygen machine and started doing weird stuff I didn’t understand. They shined a flashlight in her eyes. Her heart monitor slowed and then flat lined and the doctors looked down at there watch. “12:58 P.M. pronounced dead.” I heard and everyone started crying and they started to cover her up with a sheet when crystal and lexi banged on the glass. “NOOO DO SOMETHING. FUCKING SAVE HER!.” Crystal said and lexi banged even harder. They looked at us and then at each other and ran to get the shockers. “clear” I heard as they shocked her and her body jerked up and then fell back down. “clear” they said again and shocked her again. No response. “one more time. CLEAR!” they yelled and shocked her again…no response. Crystal and lexi ran in and grabbed her hands and said, “one more time!” but as soon as they grabbed her hands her heart started beating again. “Let her get some oxygen and give her this.” The doctor said to the nurse handing her a needle. The nurse injected her and then they all left the room. “what’s going on? Is she gonna be ok?” I asked as the nurse passed me. “I don’t know just keep her friends there and if she wakes up push that red button on her bed.” She answered and walked down the hall. We all walked in and luke ran to her and said, “Brittney baby please be ok I love you so much with every bit of my heart.” He kissed her lips gently and then sat next to her bed. He grabbed her hand from lexi and she went to crystal and they both held Brittney’s right hand. It had been about 3 days and none of us had moved from her side. The nurses brought us food when they thought we needed it and extra pillows for us to use. None of us really got a lot of sleep though especially lexi and crystal. It was about 1 or 2 in the afternoon and Brittney started to move. She stretched out her arms and legs and then opened her eyes. I had never been so happy to see those bright beautiful blue eyes. I ran to her bed and pushed the button and soon her nurse and doctor ran in. “what’s going on? Where am I?” Brittney said as the nurse said, “its ok Brittney your in the hospital these are some of your friends and I think that’s your boyfriend.” She pointed to me and I shook my head and said, “no mam she isn’t dating anyone.” I was confused Brittney should know who we are. Brittney took her hand away from luke and crystal and lexi and looked around. “why don’t I remember these people.” Brittney said confused and kind of irritated. Oh no please don’t tell me they injected her with something that can cause memory loss. “sweetie the medicine we gave you may have caused some of your memory to go away. I'm so sorry honey but it was the only thing we could do to save you. Your memory will come back in time but until then just stay with these people.” The nurse said and told us to come with her. We were all in tears by now and didn’t know what to do. “you guys just need to take care of her and make sure she stays with you. She will gain her memory back soon I promise.” She said and then gave us her check out paperwork and we signed it and then we all left. When we got Brittney home she looked around with wide eyes and said, “I live here??” she smiled and danced around and then fell on the couch. Luke sat down next to her and said, “I'm so glad your alive babe” and he leaned in to hug her. She backed away and said, “don’t hug me I don’t know you.” We all sighed and sat down with her and explained everything. She just cried and ran upstairs to her room after liam had showed her where it was. “what are we gonna do? I cant believe she doesn’t remember us.” I said as lexi and crystal hugged and cried. “guys the doctor said give her a few days and the medicine will get out of her system and she will remember everything.”  Liam said and sat down.
