Jimin's POV

The first thing I thought when I first laid eyes on Mi Sun was just how skinny she was. Her cheekbones and jawline pushed out of her face, not unattractively but noticeably.

Her collarbones were like two sticks pushing their way out of her skin. The rest of her body was covered with a pink and yellow quilt. Her eyes were beautiful and large but seemed empty. Her full lips looked as though they hadn't moved to smile in ages. Her hair was died brown and almost down to her waist. Despite Mi Sun's exhausted and sickly state, her hair still shone healthily. She stuttered for a moment before saying hello and blushing. We did our customary greeting before letting Namjoon introduce us. After he had said everyone's names except for mine, I realized I was behind everyone else, and my height was not accommodating.

"Ah, there you are," Namjoon grabbed my shoulder and gently pulled me to the front. "This one is Park Jimin," he introduced me to Mi Sun. She gasped and stared at me with such intensity, it made me uncomfortable. I shifted from foot to foot. After a few seconds, I became worried when she said nothing.

"Are you alright?" I ventured. Mi Sun blinked. Her large eyes focused on me. "Yes, I'm sorry. You just remind of someone I've seen before," she explained and smiled. The expression looked beautiful on her glum face.

Wait, beautiful? What am I thinking? She is going to die. Why do I have these thoughts? When I had signed up to do volunteer work at the hospice center, the nurse, Mi Na, had explained Mi Sun's condition.

She had a stage 4 tumor along her spinal cord. After going through months of radiation therapy and surgery, nothing had improved the cancerous tumor. Her condition had been determined terminal and she had been placed in hospice care.

When Mi Na had told me her age, I was shocked. How could someone so young be prepared to die? It made me feel sick that people like Mi Sun were going through things like this.

After the rest of BTS greeted her and left, I came to sit by her bedside. Close up, she looked even skinnier. Something about the way she composed herself was strangely charismatic, despite her sickness. I didn't know what to say so I sat silently until she spoke.

"I'm Lee Mi Sun, nice to meet you." I looked up. The smirk on her face was too much. I grinned. "I'm Park Jimin," I held a hand out to shake hands when I suddenly realized what an idiot I was. A spinal cord tumor means she's paralyzed, right? How insensitive, you moron, I scolded myself.

A wonderful tinkling sound filled the air. I looked around in amazement. What could that beautiful sound be? As my eyes landed on Mi Sun's face, I realized it was her laugh. My breath caught in my throat. Why is this happening? I can't start liking Mi Sun, she's going to die!

Mi Sun interrupted my thoughts. With great effort, she raised her hand in the air for me to shake. I felt awful that I was making her do this, yet the smile on her face was so beautiful... I carefully reached for her hand and was flooded with a pleasant feeling when her soft warm hand touched mine.

I placed her hand on her lap carefully and looked back up at her. We began to converse, and she asked about BTS's music. I pulled out my phone and started a playlist with a few of our songs. Young Forever began.

I realized what an awful song this probably was for her and moved to change it. As I reached for my phone, she beat me to it. "No, It's beautiful," She said softly, her eyes slowly closing. I smiled and relaxed. She looked younger and less tired with her eyes closed. As we got to the ending, her eyes eased open. "Is there more?" "Plenty," I replied.
