***Desiree's POV***

"Well, I left my pack 2 weeks ago because of my mate." I started out know that it was as good of a place as any. "His name was Rafe and he rejected me" i continued, knowing that a shocked gasp was sure to follow. "Dearie...I was rejected too, it hurts so badly to think of him but i picked myself up, and moved on with my life." This time it was me who drew in a shocked gasp! Rissa was rejected too?! I was instantly engulfed in a warm embrace...so much like my mothers embrace that i missed so much.  "Rissa, can i stay here, in Coeur D'Alene, with you?" I asked hesitantly, knowing the answer would most likely be no. "Of course dear! I've always wanted a daughter! Oh! And please call me mom if you like!" I laughed but decided since i never really knew my own mother, i would try. 

***Rafe's POV***

"Have you got anything?" I ask Adrian as he shuffles slowly into my office. "No. It's like she just disappeared! I don't understand how I couldn't catch her scent! It's all around the house one  minute and the next it just stops at the lounge!!!" said Adrian.My wolf and I were furious but i think my wolf was angrier at me because i rejected Desi and then had the nerve to push her down! The first lone tear that escaped her eyes nearly undid me. "Have the trackers got anything?" I asked. "No. She hid her tracks well from us." He replied. Adrian had  been a shadow for the past 2 weeks. He had called his father to tell him but he just explained that he wouldn't be coming home again and that he had gotten himself a new wife called Sandra. After that phone call a few days later, boxes arrived at his house and he was told by the driver to put all of his fathers possessions in the boxes. When Adrian had asked where his father was  the driver replied that Mrs. Solette had ordered him not to say. "Mrs. Solette?" he asked and was met with a "Yes, Mrs.Sandra Solette." Adrian had been practically silent since then. My wolf was saddened even more each time he was reminded of the absence of Desi and so I had resorted to drastic measures to get her back....

*** Desiree's POV***  3 years later!

"MOM!!! Have you seen Snider anywhere?" I yelled out to my adoptive mother Rissa. "Yes dear! He just barked at me and scared the greys outta me!" She yelled back. "Where was he?" I call out. "In the washing!" She laughed sending me into fits aswell. "Ok well i need to go mom! Cafes don't just open themselves!" I sang, knowing she would laugh and say "off you go then" before giving me $15  for a coffee and muffin on the way there. "Off you go then dear! Oooh wait! Money!!!" She handed me $15 before kissing my cheek and sending me off. 

I drove down the small, dirt road to pull out onto the winding lake view road. 15 minutes later i pulled up to my cafe 'Sunny Eve Cafe.' I had opened my cafe as soon as i finished high school in Coeur D'Alene and i loved it! It was instantly a hit as no cafe in Coeur D'Alene knew the french methods of creating perfect pastries and light, fluffy and rich cakes like i did. I opened up my cafe and pulled out the chairs. My first customer was Alpha Derek. At 54 years old he was a father, grandfather and a great leader. "Hello Alpha! The usual?" I ask. When i had turned up on Rissa's doorstep they had welcomed me into their pack with open arms and had promised to keep me protected and safe from anyone who came looking for me. "Yes thank you Desi! It is an inspiring day isn't it! I wonder what Rae will paint today!" He chattered. Rae is his mate and wife and they love each other very much. Rae is also an artist so the pack house is full of beautiful paintings! There is one for each and every member of the pack! Even one for me! I felt so touched when she presented it to me on my birthday! The first of May! I was teased by everyone that day that i was a mayflower and was given bunches and bunches of snowdrop flowers! It was tradition there that whenever a mayflower was born that this happened. "Oh and Desi! Pack meeting tonight!" He chirped and continued on his way to work. 

Later that night after i had closed up shop and had made a record amount of money, Rissa and I drove to the pack house to the Pack meeting. "Thank you everyone for being here tonight! Now could we please have some silence for our Alpha?!" Rae chirped and went to sit at the back of the stage. "Hello everyone! Welcome to yet another pack meeting! I have some important news to discuss! Just last week a pack in California was attacked by rouges... I have spoken with the Alpha of California and he is aking for permission to move into Idaho pack land until the rouges have been eliminated. To settle this i told him my pack would decide so if all those over 18 could please cast your vote at the end. I have placed a box with pieces of paper at the back, if you could please just write your answer on the piece of paper and place it in the box i will make the decision based on your answers! Thank you all, You may leave."

My heart was thundering 200 miles an hour in my ears and all i could picture was Rafe's furious face staring down at me from where i lay on the ground. "Rissa, watch out" I say before i feel myself start to black out and she catches me just before i hit the ground.
