You've helped me this far
Along this long, dangerous road
A wonderful journey still lies ahead
Its all imagined in my headYou help me to this point
Then I have to let you go
Your hand drops and I wave goodbye
I slowly start this journey on my own with a heaving sighI trudge up the road
Wishing you were still here
But I know I'm thankful for what you've done
I may not show it but I'm thankful for you in my lifeYou've been by my side since the beginning
And now I have to let you go
And we have to say our tearful goodbye
You've brought me joy in the parts of my life you were inYou never showed me the steps
But you did tell me how to get there
You encouraged me to do it on my own and figure it out myself
And that's what I liked mostYou never explained each detail
But you told me where I could find them
You let me figure things out myself
And you taught me how to be independentI guess sometimes that's why
I don't show how much I depend on you
But I want you to know
I'll love youI'll love you forever
Not in the romantic way
But in the admirable way
Because you taught me things I could never teach myselfYou taught me happiness
You taught me how to be serious
We laughed a lot together
And shared trophies that we wonI could never do some things without you
So I thank you for all you've done
I love you for everything
And I thank you for teaching me how to let go of your handSo um this is about some people in my life. Some undisclosed people
