Solo

The limelight brightly begins to shine
Lighting up the stage
Shining hotly upon the eager faces
Of the band players ready to play

The director   swoops his arms
The band inhales, awaiting the command
His arm swoops down
And a tune begins to play

The sweet melody soars above the rest
It trickles into the back of the auditorium
And shines upon the smiling faces of the audience
As the tune fills up their heads with beautiful sounds

Then the band makes a sudden decrescendo
And the limelight turns
It shines upon one player that you'd never expect
The shyest of the band begins a solo

The shyest plays so wonderfully
Something you'd never expect
The slow notes of a solo
That she called her own since the day that they met

Behind closed doors the shy one works
Time on end
For a wondrous result
That took the band by surprise

When she took it in the band room they clapped
Some stared in shock
The band director smiling at the girl working so hard
She was something they'd never expected

She never played loud
Or stood out
But in that moment she was the star
Enchanting everyone in the room

Enchanted with a wonderful tune
The audience began to clap
As the girl played
Pouring out all of her heart and soul

She poured it out
All into the music she played

So I did a solo in band today and I felt on top of the world and I came up with this
