I brought the rose with me everywhere. It made me feel relatively safe when I had it, I guess it made me immortal. But how was it possible? It was only a rose and a rose can't protect people. In this case it can I guess.

Sitting in class barely listening to the teacher, I can feel Gabe smiling at me. To be honest, I never recognized half the kids in my class. For example, I never noticed Gabe.

The intercom turned on and the professional secretary voice came on. "Hello, can you please send Taryn Bron to the main office, Taryn Bron?"

My blood turned warm at the sound of my name. Slowly, I got up and left the class with all eyes on me.

When I got to the office, I saw the principal sitting next to some man whom I have never seen in my life.

"Hello Taryn Bron, have a seat?" Principal Selby said. The man studied me with an intense look.

"What is this about?" I blurted out as I took a seat on the arm chair in front of the man and Principal Selby.

"I have just been informed you are carrying a silver rose with you," my principal started. Oh no, this is about the rose. This man, he works with the shooter.

"Yes am I not allowed to bring flowers in the school?" I said with kind of a smart assy tone. Principal Selby nodded his head.

"Of course you are, but this man claims it is his rose," he said.

"No it isn't, the rose was a gift my boyfriend gave me!" I partially lied. Chase wasn't my boyfriend. Nobody will know that.

"Sir, she's lying, this rose belonged to me before she took it!!" The man complained like a two year old.

"For gods sake buddy, I never took anything, this is my rose and it is special to me since your buddy killed my boyfriend!" I practically screamed. The words just flew out of my mouth, I had barely any control over them. Principal Selby was shocked.

"Say what?" He said with a less professional tone. His jaw had dropped practically to the floor. The man remained silent.

"This mans friend murdered Chase and tried to murder me, but I got away!" I partially lied there too. I only got away because of  the rose.

Principal Selby looked at the man, who didn't say anything. "Is this true?"

The man looked at him with a furious look and at me. He got up abruptly, flipped the chair across the room and smashed the large window of the office to get out. Principal Selby's look was hard to describe. Maybe a mix of disgusted, shocked and scared.

Nobody said a word.
