Everything's different now.

I guess that’s what happens,

when you move.

All that you know,

suddenly turns upside down,

and you don’t know which way is right side up.

But that’s what happens,

when you suddenly take a 180,

and you don’t really know what’s going on.

But it’s also a new start.

Everything I was known for,

seems to vanish.

I can become a new person.

I can be who I want to be,

instead of being forced to be

who I’m not.

I’m not glued to being just that girl,

who never talks.

I can be me.

The true me.

I got contacts instead of large glasses,

and my braces were taken off.

I’ve grown up a little bit this summer,

at least,

I think so.

I think I’ve also become a little more pretty,

than that pimply little girl that I used to be.

My blonde hair grew out,

so it’s now at my mid back,

and it’s gotten more and more straight,

over the last few months.

I’ve also gotten my ears pierced again,

so now I have two holes in each ear.

I think it’s cool.

* * *

We’ve moved to Florida,

into a much larger house.

My dad got a promotion,

so we have more money now.

I think it’s gone to his head though,

because he’s acting stuck up.

I’m not sure I’m happy about it.

The money is great,

it helps a lot,

but I think I prefer it how it used to be.

Life was easier,

and my parents were true to themselves.

Maybe I wasn’t,

but I still liked my life.

* * *

My new room is three times larger

than what my old one was.

It has a large bay window,

which I think I’m going to spend a lot of time in,

a walk in closet, and an attached bathroom.

I don’t know what to do with all the space,

but I love the ocean view.

My parents refused to bring the furniture.

It sold with the old house.

They want new everything.

Even clothes.

So now,

I have a completely new wardrobe,

with all the clothes I could ever ask for,

and shoes I never thought I could have.

Maybe I won’t be made fun of,

for being a nerdy little dork,

and being too ugly to have friends.

Maybe I’ll work up the courage

to speak again,

so I won’t have to use my iPad in school.

Maybe I actually will have a friend

this year,

and go to parties,

and laugh a little.

But life is full of disappointments.
