This chapter might be emotional for those who cares about Scott's pack. So, everyone.
Isaac Lahey's Point of View.
I was on a high balcony in a destroyed building. And just to be clear, I never liked balconies. Or high stuff. But here I was, with a girl named Brenda. That didn't like me, for some reason. Because I'm very likeable.
"So, how is life?" I tried to make a conversation.
She shrugged. "I'm not dead, so, good I guess."
I looked at her. "Is that like your pack thing? I mean, everytime I ask, either St--Thomas or Mark how are they, they answer the same thing. So, I'm asking, is that a pack thing?"
She furrowed her eyebrows. "What's a pack thing?"
"It's something your pack has. Something that only you guys have. And for what I see, that's the pack thing."
She went back to look at the stadium where Scott was. "Wonder how Thomas is doing with Scott."
I looked at the stadium as well. "I know Scott and used to know Stiles. But if we're talking about Scott, he's probably trying to do what he can."
"How was Thomas when you met him?"
I get surprised by that question. But answered it anyways. "He used to smile a lot. Was sarcastic as hell but always had his heart on the right place. He was a Hell of smart and was always ready to help. He was not fine. But didn't want to worry us. He was a lot like Scott if you could say."
"Oh."
"And was Thomas when you met him?"
She sighed. "Well, when I first met Thomas. He wanted to go to the Right Arm, and had that idea stuck on his head. And even if I wanted to change his mind, he was stubborn. He didn't smile and seem kind of sad. But tried to be in the right place."
"Looks like everyone changes. Even Scott, he doesn't want to admit it but when Allison died, a piece if his heart died with her. And was never the same after that, he was more careful, he was less trusting. Of course, he trusted a guy I never met but maybe Theo Raeken played with is mind." I muttered.
"I heard that name many times. Thomas talked about Allison Argent. Saying how everything changed after her death. I believe she was good."
I chuckled. "She was a badass. And Scott's ex-girlfriend and my crush. Of course, Scott wasn't that happy when he found out. Even if they broke up, he still loved her. That's what made it so hard to say goodbye. Because even if they wanted to lie, they still loved each other."
Brenda sighed. "How did she died?"
And I sighed too. And didn't realize my eyes were wet. "She died saving my life."
"That's a big guilt." She admitted.
"I guess that's why I moved away. I couldn't cope with knowing that someone died because of me. I'm better now but I still feel a lot of guilt."
"Thomas never wanted to admit t. Until we came to Beacon Hills but, he blamed himself for all the deaths he caused. All those people that lost someone because of him. And he was bottling things up till Newt's death. That's when he exploded. He lost it that day. And I think he wants to hold on the hope that Newt's alive."
I looked at her. "You don't believe his alive?"
"Hope is a very dangerous thing, Isaac Lahey. Hope has killed more than the Scorch and the Flare combined. It drives people to do anything just to have hope again."
