3.The sound of the heart

Colin remains silent for a few minutes before he answers:"Hi" he  whispers.
She's struck dumb, the heart beats faster.
"Ya..I..I know that I shouldn't have done it.." Colin says closing his eyes and touching his forehead "but..." he swallows "do you remember that evening?"
Julianne doesn't answer, she's staring at the wall while she listens Colin's words.
"after drinking the beer we went at the sea.." he swallows again "we laid down, under the stars, then..you grazed my hand...and I didn't understand anything anymore..".
Julianne closes her eyes.
"I got your clothes off..even if it was dark, I could see your body...your shape...that drives me crazy."
"Wait Col.." Julianne tries to interrupt him, but Colin keep talking "we began to make the love, there, without any fear, why? You ever ask yourself that?" Colin gets up from the desk and approaches the window "Yes, I did, and I know the answer.." both of them remains in silence, then Colin finishes with "the answer is you and I. We can't keep apart. We need each other." Julianne swallows then with a firm voice "Colin stop it. Please."
He reaches the hand into his pocket while he keeps staring out of the window "we need each other. I wasn't afraid 'cause I was doing what I wanted to. And you? What about you? What were you doing?"
Juls closes her eyes, again, and hurting herself says:"I followed my instincts. I made a mistake."
He squeezes the eyes while breathe deeply. It's like a punch in his heart. He nods then whispers "for me it has never been an error." he hangs up. Julianne remains silent staring her phone, her heart broken;  at that time come in her husband, Bart, he gets closer to her and puts his hands on her shoulders "Are we going to eat, honey?" she closes the eyes and nods, but when he gives her a kiss on the cheek, she feels Colin behind her. His perfume, his voice. "Hey? Honey?" Bart repeats and Juls comes back to earth, she nods and smiling says "yes, come on".

Month go by quiclky, Colin had no contact with Julianne, she was clear and he understood, also if he knew that it wasn't true, if they were seen again they would be return them two, the same who made love on that beach.

February

It's been five months since the last time Colin and Julianne spoke on the phone.
He keeps thinking at her, sometimes he looks at the pic of them, that brings him back in the time, instead she keeps to dial his number and staring at it and then cancel it.

February 13th
Colin is at home with his P.A, Luke, they are packing to go at the "Genius" 's premiere, at Berlinale.
"should be enough these clothes for two days, sir." Luke says getting up and looking the luggage.
Colin sits on the bed, he's sending a message to Livia:"of course Luke, we'll leave the day after, right?"
"yes sir" whispers Luke while his phone stars dinging "I'm sorry sir.." he says and then he takes his phone and answers by moving away from Colin "yes, tell me...oh no..I'm busy, I can't...I'll see you there? oh no, I'll arrive the 16th morning...yes, Julianne? That's great!"
When Colin hears that name, he looks up quickly from the phone and looks at the boy who is turned.
"Yes...yes, bye" he smiles then hangs up and looks at Colin "sorry..it was a friend of mine.."
"Julianne Moore?" asks Colin keeps staring at him.
Luke nods "yes, he was telling me that he'll be there the 15th with her, for her premiere." Luke gets low and closet the luggage.
"15th February?" Colin swallows and close the eyes "what about us? When we arrive?"
"the 16th sir" says Luke.
"Ok. Luke change the flight, we'll arrive the 15th."
Luke keeps looking at him:"but sir..."
"We'll arrive the 15th." Colin repeats with a firm voice.
Luke nods:"ok, ok..".

Luke organizes the departure.
Colin did it on purpose, because He wanted to meet Julianne. Again.

When they arrive at the hotel, Colin locks his bedroom door and he remains there until the evening.
He's taking a shower, he moves his hair back with both the hands while the water runs on his face. He's agitated , angry, he just wants to see her.
He gets out of the shower and he wears a suit.
He warns Luke that he'd have gone to another hotel, the Regent Hotel, the hotel where is Julianne.

He waits until the 9pm then he decides to reach his car, his driver already knows the destination, thanks to Luke.

They arrive at the garage of the hotel at the same time arrive another car with tinted windows.
"Ieaving you here, sir" the driver says looking Colin from the mirror.
Colin nods and then opens the counter and while he's getting out of his car, he sees Julianne from the back walk to the enter of the hotel.
"Julianne." he says with firm and deep voice.
Juls stopped still looking in front of herself.

she thinks while her heart stars pounding like mad.
