~Chapter 15~

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to snap at you.” I apologised to Connor once I had calmed my wolf and myself down. “Come on, let’s go talk.”

He followed me out of the room to one of the spare bedrooms across the other side of the house and locked the doors in hope that no one would hear or disturb us.

“What did you want to talk to me about?”

Connor walked over to the bed and sat down. “Come here.”

“You better not try anything!” I growled.

“No, no, I just want to talk.” I watched him closely for a half a minute until I decided to sit down next to him. “Does this feel right?” He whispered and picked up my hand and I instinctively pulled it back. “That’s what I thought.” He mumbled. “Look, I think I have already found my mate and I don’t want to have to reject them if they are...”

“Do your parents know?

“No.” He sighed. “You can’t tell anyone about this, alright?” I nodded. “Well, my mate isn’t exactly a werewolf...”

“So she’s human?”

“Not quite...” I frowned, if his mate isn’t human or a werewolf, what is she? “She’s a vampire.” He whispered.

We were both silent for a few minutes as we just sat on the bed. “W-What are we going to do?”

“I don’t know, but my father would hate me if I mated with her, he despises them, he kept his mouth shut before because he didnt want to dishour your father.".

“Connor, I have found my mate.” I told him abruptly and he snapped his head up to look at me with a frown. “My father doesn’t know either.” I sighed. “It’s complicated, in a way.”

“How so? I bet it isn’t as bad as mine.”

“Maybe, maybe not but he's from another pack, he-“ I was cut off by the sounds of footsteps thumping towards the room, angry footsteps that could only belong to my father. I sunk back into the pillows a bit and Connor looked at me funny.

The door banged open and in walked a furious Alpha, face red from the anger, and for once I was scared of him. “Get out boy!”

“No!” I really didn’t trust father when he was this angry, I didn’t want Connor to leave, knowing he would be able to protect me in some way if something were to happen - selfish, I know - but I was scared.

“Don’t you dare speak back to me young lady! Now get out boy!”

I grabbed Connor’s arm and kept him in place and told my father sternly. “He’s not going anywhere.”

“No! He is leaving!”

“Why?!”

“Because I said so! Unless he accepts the mating, he can stay, until then he can leave us alone!” That got my wolf all riled up. My heart dropped though when I saw how serious he was about this, from that moment I realised he would stop at nothing to get us mated.

“Why are you doing this?” I cried. “Why can’t I find my mate? Why can’t I fall in love with the one I belong to like you and mum did?” The tears were streaming down my face. Why was my father always so unfair to me? “Why?” I whispered as I dropped to my knees in tears.

“Because I am your Alpha and father! You do as I say!”

“What happened to my father?” The tears began pouring out even more now. “What happened to the man that is supposed to hug me and tell me everything is going to be okay? What happened to the man that's supposed to scare all the boys away? What happened to the man that is supposed to love me?” That stopped him dead in his tracks, he didn’t reply at all, just glared at the floor. “That’s what I thought...” I walked out of the room silently before making my way towards the woods.
