~Chapter 3~

BBBRRRIIINNNGGGG!!!! BBBRRRIIINNNGGGG!!!! BBBRRRIIINNNGGGG!!!!

I jumped out of bed at the extremely loud ringing, only to see it was the alarm on my phone. I sighed and switched it off. I guess I will have to turn it down a bit from now on because of my extremely sensitive hearing that I need to learn how to tune out.

I got dressed into my school uniform, yes I have to wear a school uniform! It is a long navy blue and light blue plaid winter skirt, a white long sleeve shirt, a navy blue blazer over a navy blue rugby jumper with either tights or socks. My shoes are T-Bars. I did the usual with my hair, brushed it and let it hang there naturally.

I skipped down to the kitchen and saw mum had already cooked me some bacon on toast. I hate eggs so I just have a whole lot of bacon on toast with lots of tomato sauce and salt. Yup, really healthy I know but me being able to shift now just lets me eat practically about anything and it doesn’t affect me! How good is that?

I scoffed it down and savoured the taste that was ten times stronger now. It was so delicious! “Thanks mum!” I said and walked upstairs to brush my teeth. I came back down with my school bag and said goodbye.

I grabbed my house keys and walked out the door. I walk to school as I haven’t got my license yet which I don’t really mind. I like walking; it is a good start to the day.

I pulled into the school fifteen minutes later. Wow, it usually takes me double that time.

The school was nice; it was very big and clean. There were the usual groups hanging around as normal. We had the cool people, sport people, nerds/geeks, normal people and many more.  They were your typical high school groups.

I was a bit of a loner, I was shy and quiet. I hung out with a group of people that were my friends but we weren’t extremely close. I headed to my locker and they were hanging around there. The one I am closest to is Penny; she is always hyper and most definitely not shy. We had got a lot closer this year, I must admit.

Penny is a small person but doesn’t let it bother her. She has brunette coloured hair and bright green eyes that are always scanning the surrounding area. The thing I like about Penny is she doesn’t care what people think of her and what she looks like.

She doesn’t even care that everyone thinks she is psycho. She is just always hyper, on a never ending sugar rush but when she isn’t, it has to be a pretty big deal to cause her happiness to drop.

Penny grinned at me as I walked over. She gave me a hug and I said hi to everyone else. “Where have you been Brodie? We have missed you. You were away for a week! That isn’t like you. You never get sick and it must have been pretty bad for you to have the whole week off!” She kept going on.

See what I mean about hyper? “I just had a stomach bug, pretty bad.” I said quietly. None of my friends are werewolves. There are a few from another pack that I will have to steer clear of from now on.

It isn’t like they would try to kill me or anything; we have a truce with their pack and usually work with them. They will be able to sense that I have recently shifted and will be interested. Well that is what my father said at least.

“Oh okay. Well the main thing is you are alive and well now!” Penny exclaimed. I just nodded and headed over to my locker to get my books for the first two sessions, Advanced English and Advanced Biology. I didn’t mind these two lessons; I just hated maths with a passion.

“I am going to head over to home group okay Penny?”

“Okay, see you soon then.” She waved and I just walked off without replying. The halls were so much louder than normal and I could see everything a lot clearer too which was amazing.
