❖Cosplay Ideas? ❖

Hellooooooooooooooo minna

Last chappy was too much info and less advice I know. But you gotta start learning the basics, that’s what I thought. And gladly and willingly, this chappy is all about them advices nhaaaaw! Yaay

Now to start with the cosplay-guru tips, lemme introduce first this chara. Ayano Tateyama of Kagerou Project. If you already have straight dark-brown hair, this could be a good choice for you. Ayano has silky dark-brown hair hanging on her back. If yours does not resemble hers, you could always buy wig. But wigs takes all yer money away :’( Her body figure is petite. She is more or less 5 feet.

Let’s start with the scarf. Some of you may be saving lotsa moneh and thinks that you’re gonna need this moneh sooner or later, it’s better to just start with scrap. If you already have a red scarf at home or in the attic, use it. If you don’t have, it’s either you buy one or make one. If you buy one, it’s a bit expensive and I think it varies from country to country. Best option is to make them, of course, when you have the right tool. You’re gonna need a sewing machine or just plain sewing tools and a red cloth. Note, your cloth doesn’t need to be silky and expensive. That’s the part where other cosplayers regret the most. In picking the right cloth. But really, it doesn’t need to be EXACTLY the cloth the chara used. It just needs to be red and you’re good to go. You could make it yourself or you could hire or ask someone to make it for you. Tell you this, today nothing is free. Be ready to spend some moneh if you want someone to do it for you. Tip: Try asking the closest relative there is to you J He/she could help you with it. YOUR MOM IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Next is the costume. You really need to make the costume. If you have knowledge about pattern and sewing and stuffs, you could make it at home. But if you have little knowledge about it, don’t take risk! Unless, someone supervises you while making it, that would be an exemption. But you need the experts with this. By the experts, I meant those in the means of clothings and sewing and cloth-picking and stuffs. Just ask for someone’s guidance with this if you’re a newbie. As for my case, if the cos is a simple as a school uniform, I sew my own costumes. (With the help of online tutorials of course) But it’s tooo risky. It’s a 50-50 case. You may fail and end up using the moneh you work so hard to have or succeed and have a costume on the convention. So suit yourself, whichever pick is yours J So back to the costume, it’s a black school uniform. The top almost looking like a hanging long-sleeved top. ALMOST. The top has a white accent on the side. And with dark pleated skirt.  A white ribbon is attached on her top.

When you’re done with the hair, costume and scarf, you’re 75% ready for the cosplay con. Next thing to prepare would be the stockings and shoes. She has black knee-length or below the knee stockings/socks. When it comes to socks, you could raid your wardrobe if you think you have one or you could pass by a mall and buy one. And the shoes, it’s a dark brown school shoes. If you have one, you could use it. If you want to buy one, you could. (Although the shoes are quite expensive) If you want to make one, you could. You could have your desired shoes using craft foam of course. And again, ask someone who knows how to make this. There are a lot of cosplayers out there who uses craft foam for weapons and armors and shoes and stuffs which could make them more like the chara.

Now when you have everything in your hands, I know the steps are pretty much hassle, you’re ready to go to the convention! Tip: Don’t rush things. You could always do the steps one at a time. And don’t use your money all the time! Think of substitutes or possible personalities who have one e.g the socks and shoes. You could borrow it from them just for a day or two. You can then save some of your money for the next convention. Allocate enough time in making your costume. It’s a damn long process and you need to have enough time to do it. But if you can’t finish it just before the convention, you could always use it on the next con. Lastly, Ayano could be subject for cross-dressers out there. First, you can have no problem with the plot. I think she doesn’t have one. Second, she has scarf to cover the apple on the neck or whatever you call it. Third, she is a very comfy chara to cos with.

Now that I’ve set my advice and time is running fast, I bid thee farewell. See ya on the next issue. I’ll be more than willing to give you much much more advices. If you want to ask something, feel free to comment on this section. So that I could give some advices on the next issue. Again, gotta go. And ohhh! Don’t forget. Ayano has two red clip on her left fringe. J Ciao ciao!

PS: If you want to ask for advices or you want to ask me what costume would be great for you feel free to ask me on the message board <3
