★Rapid Rants★
(Hey! Poniesaremybffs here! I'll be covering the Rapid Rants for this issue, so I hope I do it well enough.)
Okay so let's talk romance anime. We've all seen one. Boy meets girl, girl is cautious, they're friends, then they're more than friends. It's really a simple concept. But, you see, there are a lot of romance anime that forget something major.
The kiss.
It's happened to us all. The couple finally realize their feelings. There they stand, the starry night sky making them glow brighter as they hold hands, facing each other, their eyes locked. It's the very last episode, so you're willing them on.
But.
They.
Never.
Kiss.
It's infuriating, terribly so.
But even worse is when they never admit they're feelings, and we find ourselves watching an anime about people developing crushes, not a relationship. If there is something more upsetting than this, I'm yet to find it.
Unless that is, we receive the: “Oh! Oh! They're gonna kiss! They're leaning in! THEIR LIPS ARE ALMOST TOUCHING. AAAAANNNND NOPE.”
I'm looking at you, Ouran High School Host Club.
Why is this done? Seriously though, I see no reason. Perhaps it is to reserve their innocence, but I'd rather it not be done. I'd rather they just seal the deal.
