I put some sandals on and walked outside. The breeze blew by and it blew through my hair. I started walking towards Aphmau's place. When I got there I saw Garroth and Aaron laying on the couch. Garroth was snoring pretty bad. I looked down at them and saw that Aaron was wide awake.
' Help me ' he mouthed to me.
I put one finger up and got my phone out. As soon as I took it out I saw Garroth turn to Aaron and cuddle him. I took a picture and put my phone back in my purse. Then I saw Aph walk downstairs.
" Aphmau come here." I whispered to her.
She walked over to me and I pointed to Garroth and Aaron. She broke out in laughter. Aaron kept whispering for us to help him. So we walked downstairs and Aphmau held out a blowhorn. I covered my ears as she blew it. When she stopped Garroth was still laying in bed. I leaned down to his ear and whispered to him...
" Garreth."
Hey bounced up.
" My name's Garroth!"
We both chuckled while Aaron escaped from the bed and ran upstairs.
" You guys are meanies."
" I know." I said.
We walked upstairs when Travis came running down the stairs.
" Hey, guys! Guess who I got on facetime!?"
" Who?" Aaron asked.
" I got Laurence on!"
They all ran towards Travis while I stayed back. I didn't move from my spot. I could hear his voice through the speaker of Travis's phone. Everyone talked with while I stayed frozen in my spot. I could feel my heart trying to break through the barriers I set up.
" So, how are you doing down there Laurence?" Garroth asked him.
" I'm doing good! I'm happy that I'm back home."
My heart slowed down and stopped trying to break the walls. I took a breath in and out. At least he was happy. I never deserved him as my best friend.
" You're going to be even happier in a moment!" Travis shouted.
I started shaking my head telling them no. Travis handed the phone to Katlyn and ran to me.
" What's wrong? Don't you want to see him?"
" No, I don't."
" Why not?"
" He's happy. travis he's happy. I'm not in his life and he is happy. That's a sign saying that he shouldn't see me."
" Y/n..."
He grabbed my arm and made me look him in the eyes.
" ...He's not happy. Ever since you left he's been depressed. He's gotten better. That does not mean you need to stay away from him."
" Kind of does."
" No, it doesn't. If you come back into his life it'll make you both happy. Trust me he's only acting this way to convince us he's alright."
" ... "
" Please?"
" O-Okay."
He smiled and ran back to Katlyn and grabbed the phone.
" Okay, Laurence you are going to be really happy okay?"
" What could it be?"
He handed the phone to me, but I kept the camera on him. He smiled at me and motioned for me to turn it around. I did so slowly. I saw Laurence for the first time in a year. He had a red striped shirt. It looked like his old one, except instead of black it had red lines.
