Escort Assassin

Chapter 8

I grabbed her weapon and used the knife end to separate it from a good portion of the rope. "Okay find two rocks and tie them to each end of the rope." I ordered handing her the rope back. Glancing over at Eli and Lunas hiding place I saw that Luna was still standing at the entrance of their hiding spot. She's going to get Eli killed.

"Are you done?" I asked slipping back into my hiding spot. Taking the loose rope around my wrist. That way I wouldn't have to struggle with holding the knife.

"I only got one end." She answered.

"That will have to work." I sighed taking it from her. "When I go, you get to Eli and Luna. Have Eli throw Lunas weapon up then you all climb. I'll be along as soon as I can."

Before she could objected she raced out. My cloak should get the creature's attention. That's my guess at least. That guess was confirmed when it bellowed out and I heard it chase after me. I picked up the pace. Running as fast as I could. When I reached the other side I slipped into another crack. Moving back when the creature tried to follow me through the crack. If it wasn't for the creatures big horns it probably would have been able too.

It roared out before scooting back then ramming into the walls. It started to repeat it's actions trying to get to me.

When it backed up I could see the others were starting to climb. I wish they would hurry so I could start to climb as well. Now that I have done my part I just have to wait. Knowing this I picked up a rock and tied the loose end of the rope to it. This will work for when i have to make a run for it.

The minotaur roared out in frustration before it turned away. It saw Evelyn and the others who were still climbing.

I needed to gain it's attention before it tried to knock them down.

"Hey, over here!" I yelled hoping to gains its attention.

It acted as if I wasn't there. Pushing down my fear, I ran up behind it with the knife in my hand and slashed it across its back. Jumping off before it could react and throw me off. The Minotaur screamed in pain. I thought I was a safe distance away, but it swirled and rammed into me hitting my arm and throwing me 15ft away, into a wall.

Pain raced across my back as I dropped to my knees. It hurt to breath and my arm felt like it was on fire. The creature looked as if it was trying to deal with the new pain on its back.

"Maya! Hurry and get up here!" Evelyn screamed causing me to look up at them. Of course Luna was already out. Evelyn was hanging from the bars like a monkey.

Eli was climbing back down the rope. He was almost at the bottom.

"Get back up there!" I yelled at him before realizing that the minotaur was ready the charge at me.

It started to race towards me until a rock hit it on it's side of the head. The Minotaur looked up, I did to and realized that Eli had thrown it. A look of panic crossed hid face as if he had just realized what he done. Then the minotaur charged at him. Giving me the perfect opportunity to use the rope and rock tool I made.

Using my good arm, I threw it at the minotaur's legs. It wrapped around them , causing the beast the fall. It was still awake though. On the ground, it tried to shake the ropes free. Seeing this as my chance, I ran around it towards Eli and the rope.

"Start climbing." I said in a hurry. Snapping Eli out of his trance. He started to climb and I followed soon after. the only problem was my arm which made it harder to climb. By the time Eli made it to the top I was only half way there.

'Hurry up." Luna hissed I glared at her but kept climbing. When I finally reached the top, Eli was already out.

"You're almost out!" Evelyn encouraged, "Swing over and give me your other hand."

"I think I dislocated it when I got hit." I called back

Feeling the ground shake I looked down and saw the minotaur ramming into the walls, somehow out of the rope that held it. It looked up at me then rammed into the wall again. Choosing to ignore it I looked back at Evelyn.

"I'm going to swing over, you grab my legs and don't let go." I commanded.

She looked unsure but nodded anyway.

It took a couple swings, but she was finally able to grab my legs. As soon as she did, I let go of the rope. Knowing she couldn't hold on for very long, I swung up and grabbed the bar hosting myself up the rest of the way out.
