Hearing the loud applaud, I glanced around and noticed there were several people standing around the cage. My father being one of them.

"You all handled that with grace." Carlos replied as we backed away from the arena.

"It's the first time using these kinds of weapons and our first time seeing a minotaur. We're not going to fight it gracefully in a second." I growled clutching my injured shoulder.

"You still did great in my opinion." Hearing dad's voice, I glanced over to see him walking over along with Hazel. She frowned before moving behind me and grabbing my injured arm. Slowly the pain started to leave until I could move my arm freely. I nodded a thanks to her before glancing back at Carlos.

"You did okay for your first time, leader." He complimented patting my shoulder then turning to look at our group, "Maya is the leader. Eli is the second in command."

"How do you figure that?" Luna demanded, "We already decided that I was the leader."

"You decided." I growled turning to her, "You wanted to let the minotaur out early. You could have killed us."

"Oh please, you would have come up with something." She snapped rolling her eyes.

"You didn't even take the same test as us!" Evelyn screamed

"Yes I did. We fought those three." She argued pointing to Robert, Zoe, and Carlos.

"No we didn't." Eli sighed, "Even if you were an assassin, we would want Maya to be our leader."

"Well said, all of you." Hearing the new voice we all turned around and dropped to a kneel as the Prince walked to stand in front of us, "Luna you choose to be a knight. Not an assassin. You need to stick to what you choose."

"Yes, Prince." she muttered making me smirk. So much for her plan to marry the Prince.

"All of you, get back to training or go eat breakfast." He ordered.

Everyone instantly stood and scattered, except for us assassins.

"My Prince, these are the recruits." Carlos explained motioning to us.

"I can tell. You all did great fighting that beast," The Prince complimented the paused as if he was confused, "I thought four of you choose to be assassins."

"The other one was killed." I explained making him frown.

"I'm sorry to hear that." He apologized, "Well, you all go get a proper breakfast."

"Yes, Prince." We replied before hurrying to the mess hall.

"I feel like he was told to greet us." Evelyn laughed as if she found that amusing. Even I had to admit that the Prince seemed tense. How the Prince feels isn't our problem though.

"We need to get that book from Carlos." I replied grabbing a plate that had bacon and eggs on it before grabbing a cup of coffee.

"That would help us a lot." Eli agreed sitting down. Now able to stand how hungry I felt, I began to eat. At least with this food and a bit of rest, we'll be able to take on our next task. Whatever it could possibly be. If we're going to be using weapons from a long time ago, I believe it would be best to figure otu what kind of weapons they used. I'm sure they would have a book on weapons in the castle library. We also need to get out hands on that book Carlos talks about.

"Eli, do you know where the library is?" I asked finishing up my breakfast. He looked at me before swallowing his mouth full of food.

"No. Why?" he asked.

"I'm thinking that if they have a book on past weapons in there we can read about them and figure out how to use most of them properly." I explained.

"I know where it is." Evelyn announced, "I can go get check."

"Great. I'll go see if I can get that book on creatures from Carlos then." I replied standing.

"What should I do then?" Eli asked standing with me.

"Get some rest. We don't know waht kind of training we'll have next, but from our previous experiences we can already tell it, probably won't be easy."

He hesitated as if he wanted to argue, but in the end he nodded. With my plan in motion, I went to look for Carlos. I'm sure Carlos is the kind of guy who won't be found unless he wants to be found though.
