Third Person POV

Annabeth Chase stood at the Big House porch, staring at the dark grey clouds rolling overhead. Her mind was filled with betrayal, how could he do this to her? After all they had been through together?

She shook her head, it was the anniversary of the day her love tore her heart into pieces, and threw her away as though she were merely a distraction.

Footsteps snapped her back to reality, and she looked up and her heart twisted with pain and anger.

It was him.

The man who she loved, the man who threw her away like she was nothing to him. Tears stung her eyes, but she turned to the man who was the embodiment of her past and glared at him. She spat out a menacing comment, trying to conceal the shaking in her voice.

"Why are you here? Its not like you cared for me. I no longer care for you. One can even say I never did! Then again, who would?" (A/N Oh..... snap! #sassabeth.)

Annabeth laughed bitterly, her hair whipping around her face. Her boyfriend now always told her she was beautiful. She never really believed it until now. She felt strong and confident, and she felt happier.

He spoke, "Annabeth, please.... I'm sorry. Can we try again? I loved you- I still do! Please, Be-" Annabeth glared at him and he swallowed and tried again. "Please, Annabeth, I swear this time I'll love you right! Remember all the good times we had?"

Tears cascaded down her cheeks but she stormed towards him and kicked him in the stomach, and he doubled over and clutched his stomach, and he kneeled over, moaning in pain.

"ANY GOOD TIMES WE HAD WERE WORTHLESS!!" She screamed, as thunder boomed and rain began to fall. She no longer cared. The rain concealed her tears, but her anger and resentment became stronger, but so did her sadness. She wanted to forget about him, but she couldn't.

She couldn't forget what happened in her past, no matter what happened. It was a part of her, a darker, concealed part of her, that she only told to her present boyfriend, who had mended her heart and loved her more in a day than he  would in a year.

The spoken man struggled up and managed to say,"Annabeth, please, come to the water with me..." She narrowed her eyes. It was hurtful to know that where he was going to try and get her back was the first true place they had known their past love for each other.

Annabeth walked towards the beach, angry, but her sadness weighed down her speed.

Suddenly, a pair of strong warm arms wrapped around her, and she looked up to see her loving boyfriend looking down at her with concerned eyes. She loved her boyfriend more than she ever loved, him, now, because he was caring and didn't break her into two.

"What's wrong?" He asked, softly. Annabeth couldn't say anything, she shook her head and pointed at the figure walking towards the lake. Her boyfriend's expression hardened. She gripped his hand, and together, they ventured down towards the place where the man who broke Annabeth's heart stood.

As soon as they reached the man, he started to speak,"Please Annabeth! I know I wronged you, but my Girlfriend cheated on me! I see my mistake now, I want you back now! I-I love you!" Annabeth shook her head at his feeble attempt for sympathy."That is not true." She said. "Just before you confronted me, I saw you two kissing, before you walked towards me."

"You want me back because you like breaking hearts. If I came back, you'd dump me again and go back to your girlfriend now. It repeat. You're nothing but a liar and a cheat."

Her boyfriend lead her away, but not before she took one look at the man she used to love, and before walking away, she said the final thing she would ever say to him, before he was murdered  by a monster.

"Goodbye, Luke."
