I let out a yowl of terror as I heard the dog's snout slam shut. The dog let out a growl of anger, then began to dig. Luckily, Featherpaw and I grew up without fences and stray dogs so we knew how to dig fast. We both dug a hole deep enough for us and kits, so we made a escape plan. I and the queens would take the kits while Featherpaw distracted the dogs. We made a little tunnel so we can sneak back in. Featherpaw went first and led the dogs away from the nursery. I slid in and told the queens and kits the plan, then left with them following. A dog turned and saw us running to the medicine den, so he tried to get us. The queens made a run for it while I distracted the dogs with Featherpaw. We both ran into the den and led them into the hole, but we had to make it bigger for the queens to be able to come in and lie down with their kits. "Thank you Featherpaw and Silverpaw." Tigerstripe said, grooming her kits. "We really do owe you two!" Darkpelt said. "What can we do to repay you?" Dustfoot asked. It was an easy choice for us, since we both knew. "Nothing." Featherpaw and I said. Right after, we heard dog yelping and thier paws pass by. "Stay here." Featherpaw said ran out. Being that one cat that doesn't listen, I ran after him. All the dogs had fled, one died and landed right on top of cloudpaw. Featherpaw, Minnowpaw, Troutfoot, and Ripplestar moved the dog's limp body off of Cloudpaw. He tried to stand up, but his hind legs wouldn't move, it was my chance to shine since Bluepool wasn't there because she went out to get more juniper berries. "Featherpaw and Troutfoot! Help me get him on my back." They padded over here and helped me get him into my back. I walked over to my den with Cloudpaw on my back, trying to keep balance with only two paws. Once I had reached the nest he would have to stay in, I slid him off my back and onto the nest. "I remember Bluepool telling me about how Willowshine told her about how Jayfeather had a cat named Briarlight with this condition." I said, looking down at him. "Briarlight didn't die, did she?" Cloudpaw asked. "Yes, she died but not because of her legs. She couldn't move her hind legs so she never became a warrior. But, she did learn how to walk, climb, and sort herbs. She was like a medicine cat." I said, leveling out the ground.
