Chapter Three

Chapter 3

“Finally that class is over!” Jessica shouts as we walk to our lockers to put our books away.

I giggle. “You really hate that maths, don’t you?”

“Not as much as you. I drag you to maths class every day because you sit on the bench and refuse to move!” she says while laughing.

“Oh yeah,” I say laughing too. “It’s not my fault that class is boring.”

“You make us late every day!” Jessica says walking over to me.

I slam my locker shut and turn around to face her. “The teacher doesn’t even notice me walk in.” I say defensively.

“And yet she notices me.” Jessica says. I laugh and push her shoulder playfully.

“It doesn’t help that the first time we were late you decided to make a big entrance and pretty much yell sorry that we were late.”

“I couldn’t be rude unlike you.” Jessica pokes her tongue out at me and we go walking to the oval.

We sit at the edge pf the oval and talk about Felix. I can’t believe how dreamy he is yet no girl really gets that close to him.

“I don’t really think he’s that great looking,” Jessica says.

“What makes you think that?” I say.

“Just look at him,” she said pointing across the oval to Felix and his friends playing football. “he’s not as toned as the other guys, not buff, blue eyes would look way better on him than green ones. With his black hair, he should at least have light bits in there somewhere and he looks pale compared to all the other guys.”

“Jessica you’re so picky. He looks gorgeous if you ask me.” I say dreamily, staring at him tackling another guy to the ground.

“Earth to Kyla,” I hear Jessica say then she snaps her fingers in front of my face, making me jump.

“Huh?” I say looking back at Jessica.

“What do you see in him?”

“Who?” I ask looking confused.

“Felix you idiot,”

“Oh right, umm, I don’t know, he just looks perfect. I mean yeah he acts like an idiot but that’s just him and it suits his personality so well it’s amazing.”

“But he looks way too pale!” Jessica practically shouts.

“Jessica shut up, you’re way too loud! And no he doesn’t, he only does compared to you and all those other guys over there because he doesn’t get a spray tan every week. He’s tanned but not orange lie you.” I say laughing.

“Hey!” Jessica shouts and jumps on top of me. We both start laughing our heads off then lay on our backs looking up at the sky.

It’s quiet. I don’t know if Jessica is talking because I’m lost in my own world. Staring up at the clouds gives me peace but I never do it as often as I would like. I shut my eyes and reality comes rushing back after a few seconds.

“Kay! Kay! Kyla! Get up!” I feel a hand across my face and sit up quickly.

“What the hell was that for?” I scream at Jessica who just hit me.

“Oh quit your complaining. Felix and his mates are coming this way!” Jessica points at them coming our way and I shoot up off the ground.

They stop in front of us and Jessica and I stand up. The guys push Felix to the front and he scratches his head in nervousness, which is really cute might I add, as he looks down at the ground and then rises he head to my eyes. Man his eyes are dreaming.

“Hey, umm… would you like to come to a movie with me and the guys this weekend? You can bring Jessica along to.” He asked a bit shy at first but gaining confidence as he went on.

“Sure,” I said with a warm smile.

“Cool,” Felix replied with a smile back. “So I’ll see you out the front of the cinema on Saturday.”

“Sounds good,” I looked over at Jessica to see her flirting with one of Felix’s friends. I roll my eyes and hear the bell go. I wave goodbye to Felix and then drag Jessica away from the guy she was flirting with. I now she’s making a call me sign to the guy as she walks behind me and we head to our next class.
