In the car ride, it was just Junhoe talking about his trip with you only humming to his responses. You were caught up in your own thoughts. How could you let yourself trigger the disease? You won't have much longer now. Hanahaki Disease won't last even half a year. The yellow petals would be a warning, pink as a getting worst sign, red being close to death, and white being death. There was the surgery, but you would lose all your feelings for Junhoe completely, and you didn't want to forget how it felt to love him. It was pretty dumb to think like that, but it's easier to hear it from somebody instead of actually feeling it.
"Hey, are you sure you're ok? Is something troubling you?" Junhoe asked you. You turned to him.
"I just missed you, that's all." You smiled. He smiled back. When you arrived at the house you felt suffocated. You gagged a bit and covered your mouth with your hand out of instinct. Three petals this time. You trashed them.
"Is it just me, or do you look way more pale than before?" Junhoe said coming from the bathroom.
"Meh, I don't feel anything strange." You lied.
"Ok, then. Tell me if you feel sick. I wouldn't want you to be hurt." He said. You felt your heart thump. Dammit, Koo Junhoe. Stop that. You nodded before going to the kitchen to get a glass of water. This was bad, your disease was getting worst. You spaced out, unable to believe that you were slowly dying. You came all this way, and this was when you began to crumble down and fall. You came this far, but you couldn't keep going. There was a flower growing in you, and all you had to do was tell Junhoe that you loved him.
Jeez, this was much harder than you thought. What would Junhoe think? Would he think you were weird? What if he liked you back? There could be a chance. Junhoe came over and snapped you out of your thoughts.
"Hey....June..." You said.
"Hm?" He said looking at you. "What is it?"
"I have to ask you something...." you said. He just looked at you expectantly. You tried to say something. You were trying to put words into your head. What do you say?"....What do you think about love?" You just said.
"Eh? Why so sudden? You were never into love before.....why, do you like someone?" He asked. You gulped.
"No, of course not! I just started to think about it....." You said, looking away. "Do....you like anybody?" You asked. He chuckled.
"Oh, god, if I liked someone, I would be the most awkward person in the world. I can't imagine myself liking someone. It would be weird....." He said. Your heart ached.
"O-Ok...see you." You said before he smiled and went into his room. When you heard the door shut, you fell to the ground, dizzy. Oh God, you were wrong. There was no chance. He would never like you, you were going to die. You instantly started to cough like crazy. Enough until tears grew in your eyes. You covered your mouth and coughed up a handful of petals. Seven or eight. You were too tired to count. You crumpled the petals in your hand and punched the floor. After a few minutes, you got up and collected yourself, trashing the crushed petals away.
That night, you and Junhoe had a movie night. It was something you always used to do in the past. You tried to focus on the movie as much as possible, laughing with Junhoe until your cheeks hurt from smiling so much. You two ended up having a sleepover since it was like one in the morning when the movie finished. You slept on his bed while he slept on the couch.
