Yuri's P.O.V

We continue to walk along the shops when we see a large crowd starting to form. I know exactly whats going on. The Kings guards have come on their horses to collect our money. I look with disgust at the top guard, so proud to take away our lives. His name was J.J. We get to the front of the crowd watching and listening to the guards laughing at the sight of us all. I look back at Viktor only to see him trying to hide his face.

"Viktor?" I say silently. "Are you ok? Whats wrong?" He waves his hand saying that its nothing.

"Well, well, well," J.J says in a loud obnoxious voice of his. " Look at all you, standing there. HAHA. The king sends his regards." He takes out half slice of bread and threw it to the street in front of him. "Go on people. Take it, I dare you." He takes out his infamous whip and cracks it. He and the rest of the guards start to laugh. For a few minutes, no one did anything. That is until a small figure came from the other side of the street and started to slowly walk towards the bread. It was the little boy who bumped into me earlier. He walked up to the bread and with small nimble hands picked it up. At this point, the guards are howling with laughter looking down at the small four-year-old. J.J cracked his whip one more time getting ready to hit the child. Without thinking i ran out of the crowd and grabbed the boy into my chest having my back face J.J. Makkachin came along and started to growl at them.

"What's this, someone came to save the day HAHAHA." I turn my head slightly to see their faces. The guards continue to laugh but J.J stops. "Where did you get that cape?" I look at Viktor in the crowd, then back at J.J.

"Nowhere." He looked furious.

"You stole it! That is one of the capes of the royal family!" He reeled his hand back and then threw it forward again, I hear the whip coming at me, ready for the sting to hit me, but it never came. A few gasps were heard and I turned around finding Viktor in front of me with the whip wrapped around his arm. If it hurt him, he didn't show it for all that I could see on his face was anger. Viktor yanked his arm back causing the weapon to pulled out of J.J's grasp.

"P-price V-Viktor!" He said in shock.

Prince Viktor? I knew that name sounded familiar!

Viktor turns his head towards me. I look back at him with the boy in my arms and I started to bow.

"No, no, no Yuri. No need to bow to me." He places his fingers under my chin and lifts my head. "Are you alright?"

"Am I alright? What about you?" I look at his arm, the sleeve of his shirt was torn and his arm started to bleed.

"Don't worry about me." He turns to look at the little boy in my arms, clinging tightly to my shirt. "Hello." He says softly as to not scare him more. The boy blushes and buries his face deeper into my chest. "Do you mind if I look at that bread you have in your hands?" The boy slowly looked up at Viktor and places the bread into his hands. "Thank you." Viktor lowers his head and places a small kiss on his head, he then turns to me and places a kiss on the corner of my lips. He takes a small sniff of the bread, then turns back around to face the guards who became uneasy.

"You didn't happen to put anything in this piece of bread, did you?" He asked sweetly but laced with venom.

"N-no your highness." J.J stuttered.

"Oh, so I guess I can just take a small bite of it then." He slowly brought the bread to his face and opened his mouth, as if ready to take a bite.

"W-WAIT!" J.J called out. Viktor quickly through the bread to the ground and glared at the men before him.

"That's what I thought." He turned around to me and snaked his arm around my waist. "How dare you not only mock these people with essentials that they're lacking to survive, but you put poison in bread that anyone could easily die from. I order you to go back to the castle and I will have my father deal with you lot." The men quickly turned their horses around and ran back the way they came. It was silent for a few seconds, but then the people in the streets began to cheer and come to thank Viktor. The commotion slowly started to die down and everyone went back home to tell their family of what happened in the streets. In that time I was able to treat Viktor's wound, I could have done more but I didn't have the right equipment. When I was done, Viktor looked down at the boy that's still in my arms who refuses to let go, not that I mind.
