"Move out of the way, would you?!"
"Why don't you move since you're the one who started it?" I snapped back. I clenched my fists, I was now full of anger.
"What did you just say to me?" she hissed, stomping her way towards me.
Before I could say something else, someone stepped in front of me.
"You heard her, Mina. Go somewhere else," he said, his voice stern. It was Daniel.
Mina grunted in frustration before storming out of the restaurant. Daniel turned to look at me again. This time his smile even bigger than it was before. "How about I buy you guys some pizza?"
I smiled. "Sur-"
"HECK YEAH!"
I glared at Daehwi and sighed.
He scratched the back of his neck and let out a small laugh in embarrassment. I rolled my eyes and followed Daniel to a table. We sat down and ordered our drinks and food. The whole time we were there, Daniel would glance at me every now and then. Sometimes he would give me a little smirk, and Daehwi would snicker. He tried so hard not to laugh at my uncontrollable blushing, so I gave him a hard nudge. That would get him to stop. But now Daniel was the one trying not to laugh.
"What?" I asked, tilting my head in confusion.
Daniel was now crying of laughter. Then more laughter came from Daehwi once he noticed what was wrong with me.
"Seriously, what is it?" I asked for the last time. Even I started to laugh.
"Y-You hAVe," Daehwi wheezed. He couldn't finish his sentence, so he pointed at me instead. I took my phone out and turned on the camera to see the huge destruction.
My eyes went wide and I bursted out in laughter with them. Pizza sauce smeared across my cheek and my hair was sticking up from static.
What a good time for this to happen.
A few hours later, it was dark outside. I looked at the time on my phone.
7:42 pm.
"As much as I want to stay here and get fat from pizza heaven, I have to go," I frowned.
"Party pooper," Daehwi teased.
"Before you go, I have to give you your birthday present," Daniel said as he handed me a bright blue bag with tissue paper stacked on the top. Smiling, I took the bag from his hands. It was my birthday yesterday, but no one noticed in school except Daehwi. Daniel did too. "Thank you so much!" I exclaimed, waving goodbye.
I arrived home and greeted my parents. I dashed to my room just to see what was in the huge bag. I reached inside. It was a stuffed animal that had my name on it and a card. I opened the card, and it read,
"Text me:
671-936-****
Also, Happy Birthday!
Sincerely, Kang Daniel."
