Many decades past. But the hallow feeling within Alec would and could never be filled up again. He now knew how Marcus had felt all these years and still does to this day. The loss of your soul mate had to be the worst and most devestating thing that had ever occoured to Alec.

Everyday he would visit the tree where his beloved mate was burried. She at least had died being happy. He could tell, as they had shared their last kiss, she had smiled at him with the most beautifull smile she had ever given to him. A guinine smile. A smile of a woman who was ready to leave this world and greet death as an old friend.
Alec felt the same ever since that day. He too was ready to greet death like an old friend but knew he couldn't. No one would let him. His sister would be devesated if he too would leave this world. He would seem ungratefull towards his master who had saved him from death many centuries ago, yet Alec felt hallow.

Once again, Alec sat against the tree where his beloved mate was burried, her remains long gone as flowers where blooming on her grave. "I miss you so much, everyday more." he replied as he felt venom burning behind his eyes. He missed the feeling of holding her in his hands, the feeling she would give him when they where alone in their room, or his study both reading quietly.
But most of all he missed her smell. Her beautifull flowery smell. A smell that he suddenly smelled right now as a soft giggle of a child filled the air.
A small girl ran up the hill to grab the ball that had landed next to the tree, unnoticed by Alec. "I am sorry sir for disturbing you." she appoligised in her sweet voice. Alec couldn't believe his eyes as this little girl represented his mate when she was younger. Every feature was correct to her image he still had in his memories.
The vampire tried to smile as kindly as possible. "No problem. Now go back and play." he said and ruffled her hair gently. The girl giggled and ran back to play with her friends, never meeting this stranger again, as at the same time a child of the night had approached that just so happened to be the young girls father. And without a second thought, the werewolf jumped ontop of the vampire, tearing him limp for limp. But Alec couldn't care less. He would soon see his mate again, and hopefully not be punished too gravely for his sins comitted in his human and vampire life.
