Phil had Lion his little stuffed companion that he kept on his desk and liked to pet its main when he was stressed. And Dan well he had his blankie. He never told Phil about it because what 26 year old has a blankie, he would only use it at night underneath his duvet he would wrap the soft material around him as he fell asleep. It was dark blue and was really soft he loved rubbing his fingers on the corners a feeling of calmness settling in.
One night Dan couldn't sleep he tossed and turned and tried to close his eyes count sheep but it didn't work. He kept waking up from nightmares or feeling like he was falling. He was exhausted and he didn't know what els to do. He got up and walked over to his closet so he could grab his blanket and he couldn't find it. He moved his clothes and his shoes and his other crap but he couldn't find it. Where is it?! He thought getting more and more worried by the minute. He was frantically looking all over his room, under his bed, in the closet, under his desk, behind his dresser. Everywhere but he still couldn't find it. Then he broke down. He was crying like a stupid baby but he was tired and fed up and just wanted his blankie.
Phil woke up to shuffling and frustrated grunts coming from Dan's room. He checked the clock it was 3:01 it was so early he could of sworn Dan went to bed, but he got up grabbed his glasses and walked to see what all the commotion was about. He opened the door to see Dan's bedroom a disaster clothes where thrown around and his pillows were on the floor and he was sobbing on the ground. "Dan! What's the matter?" Phil urged rushing to be by his side. Dan looked up at him and just cried even more. "Dan breathe it's ok. I'm here ok?" Phil hugged the crying Dan who shook violently while he sobbed into his chest. "Sorry." He croaked our through the tears. "Shhh Dan it's ok just breathe, like me." Phil said softly encouraging Dan to breathe with him. Dan nodded and breathed like Phil his sobs turning into whimpers. "Now Dan, what's this all about?" Phil asked gently hugging Dan who looked even more tired. "It's stupid..." Dan mumbled. "It obviously isn't stupid you wouldn't be crying this much if it wasn't important." Phil argued. Dan tore his eyes away from Phil now looking down at his lap. "I can't...f-find my b-blankie." He mumbled. Phil looked at Dan his heart swelling with love. Phil got up and hurried to the living room "one second." He explained. Phil walked back with the familiar blue blanket and Dan almost burst into tears again. "Where was it?!" He replied happily. "I noticed it on the floor of you room one day while you were out, so I washed it and I just put it with all of our blankets for the living room." Phil explained. Dan hugged Phil tightly grabbing his blanket even harder. "Thank you! I was so worried I lost it. You don't think it's stupid?" He said the last part quietly scared of the answer. Phil pushed him out of the hug so he can look at his eyes. "Dan look at me." Phil argued. Dan reluctantly looked up at Phil. "I don't think it's stupid at all, I have Lion and you have your blankie." He said softly. Dan started crying again but not due to sadness but happiness. "Thank you so much." He hugged Phil again who was rubbing circles on his back to calm him down. "Ok now get some rest ok?" Phil whispered. Dan nodded but then looked around his room. "Can I sleep with you?" He said softly. Phil smiled. "Of course." Dan followed Phil to his room blankie in hand feeling all the crying finally hit him. He yawned and went under the covers nuzzling next to Phil. "Good night Dan." Phil whispered to Dan who was already fast asleep blanket in hand and nuzzling against Phil's chest.
