Public Speech

Phil walked into class his hands already shaking. Clam down Phil. You got this. It's just a speech. He let out a long shaky breath and sat down in his seat dreading the class starting. Dan walked in a bit later holding his head high a smile in his face. Phil felt jealous that Dan didn't even look nervous. The bell rang and Phil stomach lurched again at the thought of talking in front of class. The teacher walked in her heels clicking against the tile and she smiled in front of the class. "Good morning class I hope your ready to give you speeches." She said cheerfully. Fuck you. Phil sighed how can a teacher be so happy to see her students have mini panic attack's in front of her. Phil took some long breaths hoping to calm down. "Phil, it's ok you got this!" Dan soothed. Phil smiled "thank you Dan." He said quietly. Class started and kids went up and talked. It was Dan's turn and he practically ran up in front of class happily talking not even stumbling over his words. Phil practically growled. What the hell? Why is every one so good at this?!! After a while Dan sat down and beamed at the teacher who smiled and wrote down some stuff on he clipboard. "Phil." the teacher announced cheerfully. Phil felt his face heat up, his palms getting sweater and sweater by the minute. He took some deep breaths to try and calm down then before he knew it he was standing in front of the class. "whenever your ready." the teacher said calmly. Phil looked at the seemingly huge crowd of class mates. The he looked at Dan his bright brown eyes practically shining at him. He gave Phil a thumbs up and mouthed "breathe". Phil took another breath and began talking looking at Dan the whole time. Dan always knew how to clam Phil down he was always there to hold Phil during his panic attacks. Phil forgot about everyone else in the room to him it was just Dan. He finished his speech right as the bell rang. Thank god. Dan walked up to Phil both of there backpacks in hand. " you did great Phil." Dan beamed. Phil smiled but felt his heart pounding in his ears, and his whole body was shaking. "yeah, thanks for helping me." he said shakily. Dan shrugged and wrapped his arm around his friend. "Lets go to my house ok. We can play Mario Kart!" Dan said happily. Phil smiled "ok Dan, to your house." they walked out of school Dan's arm wrapped around Phil who's head was resting on Dan's shoulder talking about all the fun they were going to have at his house. "I'm proud of you Lion. One day I know you'll be able to talk in front of thousands."
