Okay sooooo I would like to make a statement.
I have read my fair share of fanfics (guilty as charged) and I can't help but notice something.
EVERY SINGLE FRICKEN ONE HAS EITHER A MURDERER OR A CAR CRASH OR BOTH!
Be creative people. Create a different type of problem. I know I have my own tragedy planned, but I can't promise it will be so "heart wrenching" as those above.
NO OFFENSE to any writers who have used these their stories are all great, the idea is just over used.
I challenge YOU my readers to be creative and have a lovely day :)
