I am craving a muffin. Well food in general, but I feel like a muffin would hit the spot. I tuck my lanyard under my shirt after I leave through the doors. The heat as increased as the sun is rising quickly. I think I saw a cafe down the street. I walk to the car and feel sweat forming on my forehead. The handle is hot to the touch and I wrench my hand back on the spot. Quickly I yank the door open, grab my penny board, and shut the door. I imagine I looked like a total idiot. I drop the board on the ground and rocks kick up on top of the white board. There is a cool breeze that hits my face as I begin to ride. The sidewalk is cracked and makes for a bumpy ride. All around me are chain stores such as Volcom, Urban Outfitters, Panera, and an apple store. All of them looked packed with people that I don't feel like dealing with.

I come up on a cafe that is tucked in between a Barber shop and and AT&T store. The name is written in cursive that is too complicated to read. I kick up my board and walk in. The menu is small and simple, nothing like that fancy crap at Starbucks. I grab a double chocolate glazed muffin that is wrapped in plastic. It is relatively cheap for its large size. There is only two other people in here with me, yet I don't want to stay.

I take my time and ride slowly back to the venue. As much as I want the muffin, I force myself to wait until I get back. My shirt pushes up against my stomach as I ride towards the wind. All I need was some peppy backround music to complete this moment.

"Watch out!" I hear a voice yell behind me. Suddenly I am knocked onto my face.

"God, why do people keep hitting me today?!" My tone is strained and harsh. I can feel the wind on the scrapes on my knees. Blood trickles down my arm from my elbow. "What the he--"

"Oh my, I-I am so sorry!" I recognize that voice. "Are you okay?"

I turn to him with a face of fury. "I'm fine." I spit.

"Here let me help you." I don't look him in the face, I don't care. He pulls me up to me feet and I wipe off my shirt and my hand hits something sticky. I glance at my hand to see it covered in chocolate. I sigh in frustration. Perfect day = over.

"You have got to be kidding me." I scrape the chocolate off of batman's face and flick it to the ground.

"Listen, let me make it up to you. Oh God this is bad. I am so late." He has turned around and is pacing in circles, his brown hair peeking from his snapback. He starts to mumble to himself quietly.

"Hey, guy?" I try to get his attention. "Hey!" I tap him on the shoulder.

"What sorry." He whips around. "My name is--"

"I know who you are." I groan in irritation. "You're Jc Caylen."

He is taken aback by my words and steps back a little. "Do I know you?" He stares at me as if to examine my face.

"Probably not. I am Trevor's cousin." I extend my hand to him and he shakes it.

"Okay Trevor's cousin," His voice has calmed and he took a step closer to me. "How about after my rehearsal today, I take you back to that cafe and buy you a new muffin?" He smirks in success.

"Sounds good, but you owe me a new shirt too." I glare at him meeting the gaze of his brown eyes.

"Okay we can do that too." His eyes shoot to my knees and elbows. "Maybe we should get you some bandaids." He grabs his penny board, which he must have crashed into me with, and repositions it towards the venue.

"But Jc, I want my muffin now." I whine sarcastically. He looks down at his shoes and smiles. Suddenly I shove him slightly, not enough to knock him down, but enough for him to stumble. "Race ya."

"Oh it's on."
