-Your pov-
You woke up, and your head was ringing. You tried to sit up, but even more pain shot through every fiber of your body. Everything felt either weightless or like it was made of lead. You tried to move your arms to rub your head, but you saw your were handcuffed to the bed. Tilting your head the best you could, you saw the redhead who had bought you the drinks last night. Idly, you remembered her name being Margaret, and that she had taken you home. Everything else was a little bit of a blur. Seeing how you were stuck to the bed, you found you had no other choice than to sit here until she woke up. Luckily, she started to stir, and then she got up to smile at you, and then began to put on a pair of sweatpants. Her eyes widened when she saw you were still cuffed to the bed, and she quickly found the keys to them and undid your bindings. You thanked her, and before you could do anything else, you got up and darted to the bathroom to puke your guts out.
She comes over to join you, and then rubs your back. " My family knows this great hangover cure," she says. " Do you want to stay for breakfast with me, and then I can make some coffee for you, and I promise you'll feel better." You nod at her, and then she pats your back and then you go to get dressed yourself, as she starts cooking something in the kitchen, which smells amazing. When you got dressed, you went into the kitchen to help her make breakfast, and then the two of you went and sat down at the table. She handed you a cup of coffee, which she explained was the miracle cure to hangovers. You sipped at it tentatively, and felt the life coming back to you.
" So, about last night," she says, and then you nod at her. " I don't know about everything that happened myself. I remember buying you some drinks, and taking you home, but that's it. And, I hope I wasn't taking advantage of you."
" It's fine," you tell her, the coffee making up for anything else that could have happened between the two of you. Pieces of last night were slowly coming back to you, and you weren't angry with Margaret for it.
" So, I have to ask. Are you single?" You nod at her that you are, and then she looks at you confused. " You called me 'Barbara' at some point last night, I remember that much. Who is she to you?"
" Oh, uh she's a friend," you tell her. " A really good friend. But, you don't have to worry about it. She's dating someone else, and uh yeah." Margaret nods when you say this, and then reaches over to squeeze your hand.
" Sorry to hear that," she says, and you shrug. The two of you then begin to eat breakfast together, and have an enjoyable conversation with each other, and then you manage the first real smile you have in some time.
-Barbara Pov-
I wake up in my house, and then go to the living room, and sit down and turn on the TV. I flip through the channels for a little bit, and then something keeps nagging the back of my mind, and then I eventually bite the bullet, and then I get up to go grab my phone. The thing that's been bothering me is probably nothing, but I just need to know for sure so I can put my doubts to rest, and so I call (y/n)'s older sister Ally. The two of us talk for a little bit, before I need to ask the question on my mind while I still remember it.
" Hey, so I was wondering. I don't know if you saw the podcast yesterday, but we were kinda giving (y/n) a hard time for something. I introduced them all to my boyfriend, Trevor the other day. And then Gavin said something weird about how (y/n) had a crush on me, and then we started making fun of him for it."
" I saw the podcast," says Ally, and then I notice how she's dodging the question rather than giving me an answer.
" Yeah, so I've been curious for a little bit. Does he have a crush on me, or was he just saying that so the podcast wouldn't get really awkward," I ask, and then there's silence on the other end of the phone for a few moments.
" You know what, Barbara? I really don't feel comfortable telling you this for my brother, since I don't want to betray his privacy," she says eventually, and then I sigh and am about to try and convince her to, but she says no each time. " Let me call my brother." Before I can protest it, the line goes dead in my hand. I'm about to call her again, and then I see Trevor waking up in my room, and then he walks over to me, and I smile at him and then set the phone down.
" Who was that," he asks curiously.
" Oh, just an old friend," I tell him, not wanting him to know the truth about me calling (y/n)'s older sister yet. He and I are still figuring out where we are in the relationship, and our talks about how close I am to (y/n) have already come up a few times, and I don't want to get into an argument with him right now.
" Cool," he says. " Hey listen, I have to go in to work today, but do you want to take the time to get breakfast with me?" I nod when he says this, and then the two of us drive for a little bit, before finding a place to eat, and then he and I talk a little bit about last night, and where he and I are. Still, I find my mind drifting. Why is it Ally wouldn't tell me if (y/n) had a crush on me, and if he does, why wouldn't he have told me?
( let me know what you thought)
