" L o v i n g i s h a r d . "
Loving is hard, sometimes. But it is the only thing that I know.
She heard nothing. Nothing but air, not even a breeze. Cold silence.
"When it gets hard, you know that it can get hard, sometimes. But it is the only thing that makes us feel alive."
Most certainly it made her feel alive as the pain it caused stung. Ironically, the thing that made her feel alive, just had to also be the thing that makes her want to end her life. Bitter pain.
"We keep this love in a photograph. We made these memories for ourselves."
She clenched her fist with her locket necklace in hand, desperately holding onto something. An object which was a reminder of her. A memory.
"Where our eyes are never closing."
Not even a blink. She simply faced the sky, staring into the endless blue void of nothing. Empty.
"Hearts are never broken."
In the memory, maybe not. However, her heart was currently shattered into a thousand pieces. Difficult to mend, or pick up the pieces to assemble back together. Broken.
"Time's forever frozen still."
She wished that time could freeze in a moment of time. She wished that it would have simply stopped in a point of time where they were happy. That it would stop when they were blissful in each others' company. Peaceful.
Veretta, snap out of it.
And so she did, returning her gaze back to the ground in time to stop herself from stepping on a snail in the gardens. She sighed.
"She's resting, but she'll be back. She has to come back... right?" Veretta asked herself aloud as she walked.
Indeed, Veretta. She has to come back, and she will return to your side. She told herself as she paced around.
...
She was down.
Physically, mentally, emotionally. You name it, she was feeling it. Absolutely terrible, would be a good description to express the degree of her condition. For the whole day, she never heard from her love, and the thought made her worried sick, to the stomach.
"What is keeping her from calling or replying my messages? Is she just that sick or did something happen to her?" She asked, extremely anxious.
Lycon Glacier had promised to contact her, and the fact that she had yet to do so, worried her.
Veretta's day had been horrible. She was physically tired from running all over the place to run errands. She was tired from her own voices putting her down, pulling her self-esteem with it. She was tired from being frightened that her sweetheart and best friend would leave, without saying goodbye.
Finally, she felt the slight vibration of her phone. At the slightest jolt of the device, Veretta whipped it out and checked the dialler. True to her promise, Lycon had called. Veretta heaved a sigh of relief and answered her phone immediately.
"... can you come over?"
Veretta did not even hesitate. "I'm on my way... I'm on my way."
She felt her heart ache as the fragile vulnerability of Lycon's voice rang in her ears.
