What Happens at Hogwarts: Percy Jackson Hogwarts AU Fanfic

Chapter 1: The Room of Requirement

“Are you sure you see can them?” Percy asked while looking, well trying to, at the thestrals pulling the carriages. Only Nico and Hazel could see them, both for similar reasons. 

“Yes, Percy, we can see them. They look like black winged skeletal horses,” Nico answered for the both of them sounding vaguely annoyed. Every year since they started to ride the carriages Percy has asked them the same question.

Percy nodded in response looking at the empty space where the thestrals pulled the carriages with slight fascination. Annabeth looked torn between pulling him back in and pushing him out. 

The year had already seemed to be an interesting one.

The sorting ceremony was long but Ravenclaw got a decent amount of new students and every time Gryffindor did a large cheer went out. While Nico understood why he wasn’t in Gryffindor it puzzled him onto why he was in Ravenclaw. He thought that he would be in his Bianca’s house as a Syltherin. 

Then again Percy Jackson was in Hufflepuff so he didn’t really want to question the Sorting Hat’s logic. 

The Welcoming feast was extravagant as always. Nico sat in-between Reyna and Piper and chewed mindlessly on a piece of bread while watching the Stoll Brothers demonstrate one of their new prank provoking inventions. Compared to Leo in Hufflepuff, their gadgets weren’t as complex, but they were still pretty amusing to watch. 

“And when you drop this-“

“BOOM! The surrounding area is covered in a clear powder that attracts rodents throughout the day.” Connor sighed and said dreamily, “Imagine setting it off in the Syltherin dormitory.”  

Annabeth,who was a couple seats down talking to her cousins about something he didn’t even want to try and comprehend, caught his gaze. She made a face as if to say ‘those idiots’ and Nico rolled his eyes to agree with her. 

“Don’t forget that the eight of us are meeting in the room of requirement, tonight, okay?” Piper said, nudging him with her elbow playfully. It had been a tradition ever since Percy had mistakenly found the ROR when he was trying to find a way to impress Annabeth. Long story short it didn’t work but they still ended up dating. 

“Alright.”

“You’re not going to bail right? I will personally send Jason if you do not show up.” 

“Yes, Mclean, I will be there. If I’m not I will expect a passive aggressive blond to nag me about the dynamics of friendships and social outings.”

Piper went back to eating her food with an amused grin on her face. Nico would never understand Mclean but he saw her as one of his close friends in his house so he wasn’t going to complain.

Everyone was already at the room when Nico arrived. Granted, he was five minutes late but he didn’t think that would upset Piper that much. 

“I was about to start looking for you,” she said as he sat down in the all too large sofa that was similar to an L shape. He was surprised on how similar the room looked from last year. He knew how the room worked but the year before that Percy had been requiring a different room which didn’t turn out as well.

“Well now I’m here and blondie doesn’t have to chase me down.” He looked at the assorted snacks sitting on the oval shaped table. Deciding that he didn’t want to mistakenly eat something vile, he went for the chocolate frogs. 

“Did you just call me blondie?” Jason looked at Nico who was too busy to notice because he was reading the trading card that came with chocolate. 

Jason contemplated on getting one himself, but when he reached out to grab it, it hopped away from. 

“You truly are a sad case, my friend,” Nico commented with said frog in hand. He gave it back to the blonde.

“Attention, everyone!” Percy announced to the fellow Hogwarts students. “This is the beginning of sixth term, fifth for some of you, and I hope this year is a good one for all of us. Our friendship has managed to last for a good number of years and I don’t know what’d I do without you guys.”

Leave it to Percy to be the sentimental Nico thought to himself. So they spent another hour doing stupid things because it was them after all. After Jason accidentally ate one of the Stoll Brothers’ magic candies that was supposed to turn one’s hair an undesirable color (in Jason’s case aquamarine) they decided to call it a night (not before Piper found as camera and took  pictures of course). 

They all needed rest because classes were going to start tomorrow and Nico knew no amount of sleep could prepare him for that. 

A/N: Hi guys! So I know these chapters aren't as long as I would want them to be but I'm getting there. Also this is told mostly through Nico's point of view for no reason other than that it's the one I write most comfortably. Oh and there will be a solid plot later on. It's getting there. :)
