Today is: 3/28/18

So, what bad things happened today, Max?

Today was a day of boredom. It's one of those days where I just become unproductive and end up doing absolutely nothing the whole day. Nothing bad happens, but nothing good comes out of it either. This is what the world would become without all of it's problems. It would be plain boring. Yeah, it would be nice to not have anything bad happen, but you just wouldn't look forward to anything if that were the case. Everyday would be the same, you wake up, your day goes by, you sleep. You can't say that your day was "swell" even if everything went nicely. A good story needs some action, don't you agree?

And what is our happy thought for today?

PEARL MILK TEA.

Nuff said. Pearl milk tea makes everything better. Pearl milk tea is my cocaine. Look, I know one chapter was about food. But this. This is a work of art. (I'm kidding, it's a beverage, so it don't count as food.) As a kid, this thing used to be my favorite drink. (Next to my grandfather's hot chocolate, of course! Everything comes second to that.) I didn't even know what it was called, all I knew was there were round things in that cup that were nice and chewy.

I know in the states they call it Boba or something, and it became a trend a couple years ago. The west has definitely been missing out on a lot. No offense, but I kinda felt insulted when they called it "Boba." That name made it sound utterly ridiculous.

Pearl milk tea is just something that brightens up my day. When I'm having a bad day, just get me some, and I'll be alright. I used to love playing with the taro pearls. I had such a hard time getting the pearls up the straw because they'd always get stuck. Oh, and it was always a supernatural phenomenon for me if I'd get a bunch in one go.

I've choked on those chewy balls countless times. Sometimes, they would end up shooting right through my esophagus. Whenever that happens, I panic then eventually laugh it off.

It's kinda like life, ya know? Those pearls are like the bad things in life. Every time you suck on the straw, you get at least one. It's rare not to get one. (Unless you bought regular milk tea, in that case, of course you wouldn't get a ball.) The milk tea helps the pearls go down, they represent everything good in life. You never really notice the milk tea because you're so busy chewing on the pearls.

What I'm trying to say is. You are surrounded by good things. You're just so focused on all of the bad stuff that you barely notice all the positivity surrounding you. You tend to choke on all the negativity from time to time, but that doesn't stop you from living, does it? At least, it shouldn't. Try looking around to see the brighter sides of life, maybe then you'll enjoy sipping on your those pearls.
