I woke up late the next morning. I checked the time and realized I've slept in. My dad usually wakes up by the time I do and he always wakes me up for school. This time he probably left earlier. I cursed and quickly got up from my bed to get ready. I didn't realize Blaze was gone and that my window was slightly open. Once I got ready I hurried to school.
Once I entered the place I like the least, I noticed everyone talking in groups, ones are smaller, some are bigger but they were all concerned. I frowned in confusion and walked to my first class sitting in my usual seat.
I pulled out my book, a notebook and a pen starting to doodle on the notebook. I felt someone sit next to me. I looked to my left and it was my bully- Michael. I looked around to see all of the seats were taken. Well shit.
I bit my lip nervously and just kept my head down pretending Mike isn't next to me, but his smell made it hard to do so. Michael smelled like cigarettes and some expensive cologne combined. The smell bothered me a little bit, cause I'm against smoking. However, I don't have a problem with other people smoking, it's just not for me personally. It's already obvious that I'm a "goodie goodie".
"Did you hear the news?" I heard Michael ask. I had a fight with myself for a second wether I should reply to him or not.
"No" I answered quietly, still not looking up at him.
"10 people were killed tonight" Michael said quietly "police and investigators said that they were all hurt the same way. They're not sure if it's an animal or a human, because wound marks have similarities to human and animal" Michael explained.
Then it alarmed me. Blaze...no. For fucks sake! I finally looked at Michael and we faced each other.
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked as I got anxious a little bit.
Michael licked his lips and looked down, then back up at me "let's go" he stood up and took my hand leading me out of the class.
"M-Michael no" I said in a shaky voice because I was expecting something bad from him. But Michael had something else in his mind. He led me into an empty hallway. I pressed my back against the wall and took a deep breath as Michael put his hand above my head leaning close to my face.
"I believe you. Alright? I want to throw up by saying this, but I believe you" He said and I felt so confused. What the fuck does he even mean?
"You believe what?" I frowned as I chuckled.
"Your world. It exist. The paranormal world" Michael mumbled quietly so no one would hear. His words shocked me. But then I remembered all of his pranks...
"Michael. You don't actually believe me. Is this another prank of yours cause I'm not buying into your bullshit" I asked through gritted teeth.
Michael shook his head "Maggie no" he stopped me.
"I began feeling...weird after one night I was heading from Julie's party. I was wasted and tipsy as fuck. I somehow ended up in the woods and there was this black figure, which attacked me and...it had yellow eyes. Then another wolf like looking figure jumped from behind the bushes and attacked the black figure. It was all so blurry. I thought it was only a dream until the morning I woke up in the same place in the woods. I don't know what I saw but it didn't look normal at all" Michael explained and I could sense the truth in the way he said it.
"So what do you expect from me?" I asked looking him the eyes.
"I just..." he paused and looked around then back at me "I know you'd understand me" this angered me.
"Oh so now you suddenly need me to comfort you? To be there for you after all of those things you've done to me?!" I raised my tone and pushed him away from me and just as I was about to walk away Mike gently grabbed my hand and pulled me close to him.
"Maggie I'm sorry. I really am." Mike apologized. I just stared him into the eyes. I wanted to hear him to say that for so long and now he finally did.
"It's been a week and I had so many strange things happening to me lately. I know how you feel. I'm sorry for not believing you, I'm sorry for all of those pranks and other shit that I made you go through, but I guess we can only believe in paranormal once we experience it for ourselves. Thought it's not an excuse, there's no excuse to that. I'll make it up to you...but just please...forgive me..." he talked so emotionally, like he meant it. I just nodded and looked down.
"Do you forgive me?"
I bit my lip harshly, then shook my head. I liked up to him "Okay...fine. I do" I sighed. Then Michael did something I expected him to do the least.
Michael pulled me into a hug wrapping his arms around my waist pressing his body as close as possible against my tiny one compared to his "Please...help me, cause I'm going crazy"
"alright..." I whispered. I'm a forgiving person. In the way he spoke I felt his emotion. I have a strong empathy, which proved me that he's genuinely telling the truth.
Not all people deserve a second chance...
but he does.
