"Dem? Demi?" You sighed as you slam the door shut and threw your keys on to the side. It had been an excruciatingly long day at work, full of mundane work and boat loads of paperwork. You wanted nothing more to fall into bed and cuddle with your girlfriend of a year.
"In here babe!" You hear her call back as you follow the sound of her voice into the living room, where she's curled up on the sofa, the TV in her background as she concentrates on the iPhone in her hand. "Hey you, how was work?"
You answer is simply a grunt, telling her everything she needs to know. "Come here." She pouts, opening her arms and moving the blanket off her legs. You immediately fall into her arms, resting your head on her cheat and entangling your legs with hers. "Have you eaten?"
"Not yet. You?"
"Yeah, I left you some in the oven."
"Maybe later." You hum, relaxing into her body as she wraps the blanket around you both.
"I missed you today." She whispers, planting a kiss on your forehead as she combs her fingers through your long hair.
"I missed you too. I never want to move from this position ever again." She giggles at your comment, taking her phone back into her hands.
The silence takes over, nothing but the whispers of voices from the TV in the background, playing re-runs of some TV show. You hear a click of a camera shutter and immediately raise your head to see Demi, smiling at the photo screen.
"I'm sorry." She whines, at your look. "But look how cute, can I post it?" You sigh and nod, not wanting to admit that the picture is kind of cute. You can't fully see your face, just the shut of your eyes. You lay back against her chest, watching her type on her phone above you.
'favourite part of the day👭💘' She types, adding it to her Snapchat and Instagram story. Leaning up, you plant a soft kiss on her jawline in appreciation as you feel her tighten her arms around you.
"I love you."
"I love you too. Now, go get your pyjamas on and I'll warm your food and stick a film on." You knew this was the girl you wanted to marry.
